This book highlights the effective treatment of a very common ailment acute tonsilitis, acute pharynigitis and acute pharyngotonsilitis. Both treatment options, herbal and allopathic, have been studied in detail through case control direct unicentre prospective randomized clinical trial. Plants used in the herbal treatment include Glycerrhiza glabra, Trigonella foenum gracium, Solanium nigrum, Alpinia galanga, Cordia dichotoma and Morus nigrum versus Cephradine sodium, a cephalosporine drug. The results are very interesting to study and opens yet another solution to treat the common diseases.
The purpose of the present research work was to carryout clinical study on primary dysmenorrhoea to comparatively examine the coded herbal drug formulation with authentic allopathic medicines. A random controlled clinical trial was conducted to compare the effectiveness and safety of coded herbal medicinal treatment Dysmo-off with Voren. In this study clinical trial statistical data so generated and the results conclusively obtained proved that coded herbal medicine Dysmo-off had a significant greater improvement in combined symptoms of dysmenorrhoea compared with those of Voren treatment so the null hypothesis was strongly rejected on the basis of p value calculated by chi- square test in both treatment groups. The conclusion deduced that Dysmo-off is effective and safe for the treatment of dysmenorrhoea when compared with Voren.
