A little airplane named Prop lives by the Caribbean sea. He has to learn how to land on tiny islands with runways in the mountains. Or clinging to volcanoes and sometimes even hidden from view. He becomes so over confident about his abilities that he refuses to take advice from anyone. Until the day he has to make the hardest landing of all. Crash after crash leaves him with a bunch of bruises and a big decision. Can he finally ask for help from an old biplane who lives next door?
Rollercoaster Rainbow is a story of four baby animals who live on an island. Each character has their own identity that helps unfold the narrative as the tale progresses. After a day of rain the sun begins to shine and a rainbow appears. Being curious little creatures they first try to find where it landed. And once they are at its base the idea to climb it and see where it goes becomes irresistable. But soon they discover the rainbow has its own foibles and it begins to control their adventure. Getting to the top was the goal but once there they are confronted with something to whet their appetites. So much so that getting back down becomes a problem. The rainbow has one last surprise when they notice a roller coaster car waiting to be used. Their wild ride to Earth leaves every color they encounter mixed to a new hue resulting in a palate the Impressionists would have enjoyed. And hopefully the reader is enchanted by the thought that what we see can sometimes be altered for our pleasure. And some experiences can alter us for the better.
