The World Health Organization recommended modern contraceptive services, including emergency contraception, as a means of reducing unsafe abortions and maternal mortality. These complications can be avoided through the use of emergency contraception. It is a form of modern contraception that is used after unprotected sexual intercourse, sexual abuse, or the use of regular contraception. It plays a vital role in preventing unwanted pregnancy and thus helps to reduce unsafe abortions or unwanted children, which is a major health problem among mothers. The means are used within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. Governmental and non-governmental organizations working to provide reproductive health services to these women may benefit from the results of this study by providing awareness programs.
