Alma Svendsen på Katholt, der var mor til Emil, skrev alle hans skarnsstreger op i blå stilebøger, som hun gemte i sin kommodeskuffe. Til sidst var skuffen så propfuld af stilebøger, at man næsten ikke kunne trække den ud. Der var altid en af dem, der blev krøllet og kom i klemme. Men de ligger i den gamle kommode den dag i dag, alle de blå stilebøger på nær tre, som Emil forsøgte at sælge til lærerinden i søndagsskolen engang, han skulle bruge nogle penge.
