This is a story of Elise, a world-class pianist. Although starting to show signs of her years, she was still nonetheless a very attractive woman as well as a first-class musician. She had been married to Herman Mies Van Der Rohe for some twenty-seven years. Herman was a successful banker. He had joined the Goldsworth Commercial Bank after first graduating from the London Kings College and then the Westminster University, where he studied finance and languages. Herman was born in England, although his mother was Austrian and his father was Swiss. His parents had come to England soon after the end of the Second World War. Herman's Father, Hedrick, had been offered a position at one of the first Swiss banks to have a branch in London.
