Contemporary philosophy of religion is dominated by foundationalism--the belief that there exists a set of "foundational" propositions that provide evidence for all other propositions without themselves requiring such evidence. Today, foundationalism is under heavy fire, and the philosophy of religion is being greatly changed by these debates.

A collection of essays which explores the significance of Wittgenstein for the Philosophy of Religion. Explorations of central notions in Wittgenstein's later philosophy are brought to bear on the clash between belief and atheism; understanding religious experience; language and ritual; and the possibility of a Christian philosophy.
