David Lee is a major figure in American letters: the author of fifteen books of poetry, a celebrated teacher, a legendary reader in classrooms, bookstores, and taverns; and the first poet laureate of Utah. His work is full of the most various qualities: soul-crushing tragedy, lyrical celebration, high comedy, storytelling ebullience. Rusty Barbed Wire: Selected Poems, now with us at last, brings to the community of readers raw power and radical beauty.

Sunday Morning Stick Up What your Pastor doesn't want you to know about tithes A Must Read for anyone who pays 10% tithes or gives money to a Leader, Pastor, Charity, Non-Profit Organization or Church There is an undertow of frustration finely hidden beneath the delicate fabric of today's Christian experience. We call her Church, The Bride of Christ. Forlornly, she looks nothing like the church of yesterday. Conflicted in her existence and compromised in her expressions, she bears the name of the heavenly father, but oftentimes demonstrates the characteristics of His adversary. She hurts wounds and defrauds as many as who hope to receive healing and help from her hands. 2000 years ago, Jesus confronted her leaders and revealed two very significant observations as He stood in her courts armed with only a whip & passion. SUNDAY MORNING STICKUP, is that whip and passion of today. Jesus's Public Confrontation * Evaluation #1 - My house shall be called a house of prayer * Evaluation #2 - You have made it a den of thieves These accusations, once heralded by the savior in her sacred courts more than 2000 years ago, have manifested themselves into full blown, undeniable crimes committed in broad daylight. Worst of all, this stickup takes place like clockwork, primarily on Sunday mornings. Star struck, many have given in to larger than life personalities, and have cast aside the genuine leading of God's Spirit. She (the church) exhibits signs of swelling to the exorbitant totals of 10,000 to 30,000 plus members all gathered together in one place, but real growth escapes her. Her pews are filled with former members of other churches as opposed to newly converted sinners. Sunday Morning Stickup reveals that there are no scriptures that support Christians paying tithes. After embracing this scripturally guided tour through this important subject, you will realize, you do not have to feel guilty about not paying tithes. As modern ministry redefines herself throughout the world, focusing on souls has been replaced with a focus on $.O.U.L.$. ($atisfying Our Unrestrained Lust for $tuff). The term for this is Lasciviousness and can be found in St. Jude 1:4 For years, the preachers would tell us "You must give God your life." Today that message has been drowned out by "God wants you to be wealthy, but first, you must give Him your best offering." You have been told that paying tithes is of the utmost importance to being blessed by God. But ask yourself, "What do I really know about tithing?" As you ponder this thought, you are beginning to realize that many have talked about tithing, but no one has really ever taken the time to teach you specific truths about it. SUNDAY MORNING STICKUP will teach you these truths. After reading this book you will be able to answer the following questions: What is the true essence of tithing? Is tithing required? Am I cursed if I do not tithe? Does it really take millions of dollars to win souls to Christ? Is it ok for the Pastor to live lavishly while his members struggle with the decisions of paying bills vs. buying food? Is church "Big Business"? If my family is in need, do we qualify for assistance from our church? Is it ok to use my tithe to help those who are in need? LET YOUR JOURNEY TO FREEDOM BEGIN! Author, David Lee
Although it has been a major priority of the Soviet government since 1917, when the Bolsheviks initiated a mass literacy campaign, adult education in the USSR has received comparatively little attention from Western scholars. This book is the first Western account of the people's universities--the decentralized, nonformal arms of the vast Soviet system of continuing education. Based on the only on-site studies thus far conducted by a Westerner, it focuses on the ideological, institutional, and pedagogical dimensions of the system and assesses its goals, methods, and achievements in terms of both educational values and the larger objectives of Soviet society.Lee first provides an overview of theories of Soviet continuing education and looks at people's universities in the context of Soviet adult education as a whole. He traces the origins and development of people's universities between 1896 and 1968 and examines the goals and curriculum of the system. The next chapter deals with structural and administrative organization together with teacher training, teaching methods, and student evaluation procedures. Following a case study of the People's University of Culture at Leningrad, the author explores the linkages between people's universities and other institutions--both educational and political--and analyzes the impact of these connections and their significance for the future of the universities. He presents detailed statistics on the development of people's universities and a bibliography that includes Soviet archival materials not previously available to Western scholars. Lee's book explores a new area of scholarship of interest to Soviet specialists while giving an unusually clear picture of how particular political and economic aims continue to shape Soviet institutions.
"Sowing and Reaping a Fearless Heart - Convicted not Condemned" is the true story of one man's spiritual journey through life. His journey begins in a dysfunctional household as a child with an alcoholic policeman father, a tolerant mother and a brutal older brother, and takes him through 3 failed marriages, one son and 8 years in the Marine Corps. While in the Marines, he gave his life to Jesus Christ. However, helicopter crashes and shark infested waters left him plagued with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and he resorted to self medication with drugs and alcohol. This lifestyle eventually landed him in jail and 27 months of prison. He finds his roots in his father's childhood home of Winnsboro, SC, and begins seeking restoration from family that he's let down over and over. On a walk home from shopping, he's shot in the head and left for dead. This experience causes him to realize he needs Jesus more than ever and he cries out to GOD in surrender -- then finds more than he imagined. GOD heals him, restores him, and moves him to go on a mission to Swaziland in Southern Africa. He meets a kindred spirit online, a published author and high school teacher who goes on missions to Ghana, West Africa annually. Soon, they are engaged and he is ordained as a Minister. Together they form Waters Edge Ministries, planting home based mini churches and coordinating missions to Africa. An exciting journey that will bring you closer to GOD.
