Two new Schiff bases were prepared. The formed Schiff bases ligands were further employed for the synthesis of new complexes through reaction with Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) , Cd(II), La(III), Er(III) and Yb(III) metal ions. The synthesized Schiff bases and their metal complexes were characterized using some physicochemical techniques including elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV¿Vis, conductimetric measurement, magnetic susceptibility, mass spectrometry as well as thermal analyses (TG/DTG). The Schiff bases and their chelates have been screened for their antimicrobial activity and anticancer activity.
