Once again, Rick Chandler combines international treasure hunting with giving talks around the globe. Talk titles range from Napoleon, to mythology, to Winston Churchill, and to cruise ship crime. Featured talk centers range from Connecticut's Hollings General Hospital to Paris, to Portugal, to Germany, and to the Far East. Most talks have either an ever-present Mr. Nemesis in the audience or, later on, a mysterious Mr. Stalker. They have an eye on Rick and his quartet of close friends who accompany him on his many trips. At one point, ISIS, al Qaeda and Iraq enter the picture, and they threaten to overtake the world in due course. It takes all of Rick's energy and the efforts of Leon Cassell, the director of Gens de Verite and the French government to curtail such action. Leon stresses his years of police work and of teaching a course on Corrections, Crime and Criminology at the University of Paris. As a final maneuver, he resorts to lying about his making arrests in places beyond Paris.Captivating throughout, the book will leave you spellbound as you wish for the reading experience not to end.
International criminal investigator Rick Chandler agrees to take on an assignment many others have turned down. Thus begins a three week period filled with surprises, many of which are life threatening. From an encounter with Count Dracula in Transylvania to Rick's dealings with Nazi plunderers, cybercrime and both good and bad Mafia kinship groups, he becomes embroiled in a world of survival. During it all, he endures many distractions including Dracula's pursuit of Slobodan Milosevic, the ""Butcher of the Balkans"". It is the Count's intention of biting him into a vampire.Only a diversion of handling security issues at Hollings General Hospital helps in preserving Rick's sanity. But in the long run, they become issues which also loom more than challenging.Compelling and quick paced, it is an altogether captivating reading experience.
International police consultant, Rick Chandler, volunteers to locate and recover looted treasures such as art works, valuable books, Nazi gold, ancient paintings and ceramics. Much traveling takes him to locations near-and-far, especially Argentina, France, England, Switzerland and the Rock of Gibraltar. At the Rock, he identifies some treasures and amidst life-threatening encounters, struggles to return them to their rightful owners and have the perpetrators arrested. Prostitutes, cruise ship captains, and certain Mafia figures enter the picture as well as the foreboding tale of Eva Peron and her association with key Swiss bankers. And even the demands of the relatives of Sacco and Vanzetti, Lucky Lindy, Sam Sheppard and Phil Specter to clear their family's names are highlighted or else multiple explosions would occur at the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the El-gin Marbles and the Arc de Triumph. With a surprise ending, it is both a ticking-clock thriller and a gripping novel peopled with memorable characters.
