David Masters, who faces the tedium of another book signing in New York, longs for some new and exciting departure from the norm. Just when he thought he would never get it, he meets Eva Gallows, a woman of staggering beauty and an eerie sense of familiarity. Her very being compels him to get closer to her, but it's when they finally touch that they both uncover the truth: their lives are fragments, reincarnated aspects of their former selves from days immemorial, and for a love they once shared they were cursed to walk this earth until the end of time...“The blade has dulled and glory passed,And times come frighteningly fastWhere children cease to sing his praiseAnd long forgotten are the daysWhere Raebon walked upon this earthAnd slayed the dignity of his birth. As the Kingdom Alaedrea fallsSo Raebon must, too, heed death’s callAs will that Temptress gone astrayWho made the King’s son Lechery’s slave. The Lovers of dissociated class,He a noble and she more crassAre thrust henceforth through time and spaceForbidden to gaze upon the other’s faceUnless the loving man should seeIt is his writing that holds the keyTo open doors shut in ages oldAnd reunite the Lovers’ souls.Forever more will they still rise,As many times as they have died. And when the earth blots out the sunWill then this wretched game be done.”
The Nabi’im, or Prophets, are the guardians of this world. They defend not just the hearts, minds and spirits of humanity but the very life of God’s most precious creation, though there have been instances wherein a Nabi strayed from his path and due to corruption nearly caused massive ruin to the people he was called to protect. Inheriting a limited amount of the Holy Spirit’s power comes naturally for those drafted into the ranks of the Nabi’im, but because of the potential they bear there will always be forces that war against them beyond your wildest imagination.
