Come take this journey with them and find out what the outcome of their story will be. Linda Lawson started writing in 1996. She was inspired to journal because of her dark past as a child. The first book she wrote was “A Brighter Day”, then “The Adventures of Bertha and Me” which were both autobiographies. Linda is an overcomer of so many horrific things. She did not allow her past to dictate her future because she was determined to make it. That’s what determination will do for you, if you pursue you dreams. Linda’s latest book, “The Frying Pan” is her first fiction and she must say that it is fascinating, riveting, thrilling, full of mystery and a good read.
This is a true story about two young girls that grew up on a farm. They became best friends even when the odds were against them. One seemed to have it all and the other one was very poor, but that did not matter to either of them. When she befriended the poor girl, it made an impact on her life for the rest of her life. Their friendship gave them the determination to achieve their goals. This book is very inspiring, uplifting and also adventurous. Their friendship was challenged by others because of their race. Their friendship endured, overcame all challenges and lasted a lifetime.
My name is Linda Lawson, I was born with the name of Linder Laverne Kizee on June 27, 1953 in Blairs Virginia to an uneducated sharecropper and housewife.  We were dirt poor and lived off the land.  I had four brothers and two sisters.  In 1958, we abruptly left Virginia and moved to New Jersey with nothing but the clothes on our backs.  For years I''ve searched for the answer to this mystery, but to no avail.  It took a lot of strength and courage to endure life''s hardships and difficult circumstances.  Life has been like a rocky roller coaster ride, with its unexpected turns, bumps, ups and downs.  Through life''s experiences, I found out that life is what you make of it.  You can either bear down beneath the load or you can stand up, fight and be a survivor.  That''s exactly what I chose to do - fight! When I was six years old I connected with God and He never left me.  He was with me through the hard times, the dysfunction and life''s lows.  Even though my family was dysfunctional, I decided that I would be different.   I learned that you can be born into dysfunction, but you don''t have to become it. My faith in God gave me the courage to fight and win.
