In the early 1990s, there was a people-some born slaves, some born descendants-who struggled to be a people. It was a transitional period where there was no clear tomorrow. Born in and of those times was Annie Pearl Jones. She had curiosity about life that tarnished her life, leaving her preoccupied with death. She has a family that could not understand or console her. And so it was, as her family struggled to endure those times, Pearl focused on death as death on her.Pearl was the daughter of Jackson and Lizzie Lee Jones and the older sister of my mother, Lola Mae (Monk). The Story of Pearl is my mother's memories of a sister she loved and never really knew.

"My Prayer Coloring Book" is designed to show how to pray for the seven (7) Centers of Influence, and will help the children stay focused and intentional in their prayers. If we know for whom we're praying, our prayers move from being general to specific. This sets a pattern for a life of prayer, and-at the same time-builds an army of praying people who seek Almighty God for direction for their lives, as they watch and pray with thanksgiving, and without ceasing. Our goal is to make sure our children in day care centers are ready for Kindergarten, and beyond! Mary B. Campbell is an 85 years young great-grandmother, who happens to be the Senior Multimedia Consultant with the Salem Media Group/Philadelphia. Her tenure with WNTP (and its predecessor, WZZD) totals 28 years plus! Mary has served as regional coordinator for eastern PA for the National Day of Prayer (NDP) since 1993, and was honored as National Coordinator of the Year for the NDP Task Force in 2007. Mary (known affectionately as "Mom") has been ministering tirelessly in the city of Philadelphia for many decades. Her passion for intercession and her prayer stems from Psalm 71:17-18: "O God, You have taught me from my youth, and to this day, I declare Your wondrous works. Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation--Your power to everyone who is to come." This passage is Mary's inspiration for her next prayer movement: prayer in day care centers! Because most children in day care centers do not yet read, they are asked instead to color and to pray, acquiring a critical life skill for the road ahead.
