This book, published in 1910, recounts the life of the children's author and educationalist Mary Martha Sherwood (1775-1851), who established schools in England, and in India, where she lived for 11 years. It is based on Sherwood's diaries, supplemented by information from her husband's diaries and the Sherwood family.
