Shorttitle:Part one of the book covers the design of ELT materials and methods in the light of various ELT approaches. Part two looks into the possibilities of teaching the language skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing, and integrated skills) separately as well as integrally. Part three of the book examines different classroom methods such as; group-work and pair-work, individualization, self-access and learner training, observing the language classroom, and role of the teacher.
My sole aim of writing this book is to discuss as to how I found the five pillars of education functioning, as I have entitled the book, and how we can improve every one of them. I have discussed critically each pillar of education from different angles to point out the drawbacks in it and how to bring about reformations therein. With this purpose in mind, I have touched some flawed aspects in the education system with a bitter tone but the aim behind this is never ever my personal prejudices because I, being a teacher, also belong to this profession.
