On April 20, 1979, Brisbane's historic Belle Vue Hotel was demolished. Over the ensuing forty years a treasured small fragment of the hotel has been carried around the surviving hostelries of the city in a celebratory Pub Crawl. Over-indulgent perhaps, but good natured fun, with participants numbering in the hundreds over the years. Eventually, it became a charity fund-raiser. This is an uncertain history of that annual event.
