Christmas is just around the corner, and Nishikata isn't about to go home for the holidays without a prank! Especially not after Takagi-san appears in his dream and dominates every contest he tries to plan. His bag of tricks may be empty, but his youthful determination remains strong. Nothing can distract him from his mighty cause of taking down Takagi-san...except for maybe Takagi-san herself.
Yaotome's the cute president of the shogi (Japanese chess) club at her high school, and she's pretty sure that her underclassman Ayumu, the only other member, has a huge crush on her. They get together to play shogi every day after school, but no matter what she does, she can't seem to coax or trick him into confessing his feelings! What she doesn't know is that Ayumu has made a pact with himself to reveal his love after he's beaten Yaotome at shogi for the first time. Yet there's one big issue with this plan...he really sucks!
To beat Takagi-san, Nishikata must think like Takagi-san, and that means everything has contest potential. From a teacher’s proposal to Setsubun, anything is fair game— except for 100% Unrequited. Although, why does Nishikata find it so embarrassing, anyway? It’s not like their relationship is even remotely like Ikeo and Kyunko’s!
"Ayumu is steadfast in his promise to himself that he will not ask out his crush and shogi club president, Urushi, until he beats her in a single game of shogi. However, his resolve will be tested at every turn, as his club senpai grows more and more brazen with her own feelings for him and they traverse the minefields of White Day and several totally-not-romantic dates."--Provided by publisher.

By his third year of middle school, Nishikata is a veteran of competitions and of losing, but he is resolved to win against Takagi-san in the new year. However, there is one challenge, from his friend Hamaguchi, that Nishikata’s okay with failing: asking Takagi-san out! Sharing an umbrella and climbing up the rumored romantic stairs together don’t count…right?

Although the new school year threatens to separate Nishikata and Takagi-san into different classes, one thing remains certain—their continual series of contests will go on! Second-year Nishikata is not the same boy he was before, and he will definitely beat Takagi-san…except there’s one problem—Takagi-san is also in year two!
Even when Nishikata feels like he’s got the upper hand, Takagi-san never makes things easy for him. Whether he’s doing his best to make her admit she’s cold in her summer uniform, giving her a strict speech while pretending to be her teacher, or simply trying to avoid getting slapped on the back after a bad sunburn, escaping embarrassment is always a tall order! But he’s no quitter, and he can’t lose every time…can he?
The day of the sports tests has arrived once more, and this time, Nishikata is determined to achieve victory over Takagi-san for sure! After last year's disappointing defeat, he's spent every spare moment training for his chance at revenge! If he's able to come out ahead, Takagi-san will be forced to stop teasing him...which is what Nishikata wants, right...?
Today''s flavor of teasing...is chocolate! As Valentine''s Day approaches,Nishikata and Takagi-san as they plan special Valentine''s pranks on each other! Are they really pranks? Or could it be...something more?
No one could've warned Nishikata of the trial by pranks that would dominate his middle school career. So far, he's had to ride tandem with his sworn enemy/prankster Takagi-san and not only avoid her gaze but dodge her deadly pokes! Little do people know that none of this would've happened if he hadn't met her on the first day of middle school-on that fateful day!
Hangouts with Takagi-san never go smoothly-not when she teases you for thinking about naughty stuff or when your entire class is convinced you're dating her! Both are embarrassing enough for Nishikata, but Takagi-san doesn't seem the tiniest bit fazed-at least, from what he can tell...Avoiding her sounds like the best plan of action, but that won't work now that she's coming over to his place-er, whose place?!
Introducing the popular"trickster-typegirl"!Volume 3 ofthe much-loved "prankster" rom-com is here!A "badump" or two isn''tanything out of the ordinary with Takagi, but what will Nishikata do when hisheart starts to race uncontrollably in front of her?!
Hearing the word couple is enough to get Nishikata flustered, especially when he and Takagi-san keep getting mistaken for one...(It's gotta be another ploy!) With summer still in the air, hair-raising ghost stories and haunted trails won't be the only surprises in store for Nishikata-not when the real heart-stopper is right beside him!
