William Le Queux was a hugely prolific writer, best-known for pioneering the genre of 'invasion literature'. The Great War in England in 1897 (1894) - which depicts Britain being invaded by coalition forces led by France and Russia - was one of his two hugely successful novels, the other being The Invasion of 1910 (1906). Many of the best science fiction stories, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
