Presents a collection of 22 selected papers from the homonymous Conference held in September 2003 Milos, Greece. This book discusses the issues on the South Aegean Volcanic Arc. It includes an interesting interpretation of data on the spatial distribution of intermediate focal depth earthquakes, fault plane solutions and deep velocity structures.

Deals with the study of three important volcanisms in the Campania Plain: Vesuvius, Campi Flegrei and Ignimbrites. The authors, for their interpretations, utilize thermodynamic and quantitative mass balance modelling of major and trace element data and semi-quantitative limits on Th and Sr isotopes to evaluate the role of crystal-melt separation.

Aims at preparing the Vesuvius area to confront future eruptions with minimal socio-economic and cultural consequences. This work addresses volcanic risk mitigation in densely populated area surrounding Vesuvius. It provides education about volcanos; and displays physical modeling of eruption processes and integration of models.
