A 15th-century book of knowledge, written in verse in question-and-answer form and enclosed in a framing adventure story. The English version is taken from an Old French source. The work covers a very wide range of topics and is of interest as an index of popular beliefs in the Middle Ages.

A first book in the two volume English translation of a previously unpublished fifteenth-century book of knowledge, originally written in French. The text is number 311 in the EARLY ENGLISH TEXT SOCIETY ORIGINAL series.

This volume comprises the first half of "Castleford's Chronicle" - a verse chronicle, written in a Northern English dialect, which recounts the history of Britain from its foundation year to 1327. It is one of the earliest compendia in English of the events of British history as then understood.

This is the first edition of a major work by the translator and hagiographer Osbern Bokenham comprising a complete translation of a collection of Latin saints lives into Middle English.

Provides, for the first time, a full edition of the first Lollard revision of Richard Rolle's English commentary on the Psalter, and gives detailed evidence for the second revision. The edition is based on study of all manuscripts of both revisions, and includes the twelve commentaries on the Canticles which accompanied the Psalter commentary.
