Books in the Estonian Studies in Education series

A collection of papers that analyses the professionalism of teachers in Estonia and neighbouring countries from several perspectives. It features data from the OECD TALIS survey that have been used to study the transformation of the teaching profession in present years.

The collection reports changes in the identities of teachers, and differences in lesson planning among novice and experienced teachers. Language competence and the structure of argumentation in examination compositions have also been studied. The learning strategy summarizing explained 33% of the variance in PISA 2009 reading results.
