Human ecology, the study of the interrelationships between man and his environment, is necessarily in interdisciplinary study. An aim of this series is to demonstrate the importance of appreciating the viewpoints of different disciplines on problems of the human environment when attempting solutions to those problems.
This book is the result of aseries of lectures organised by the Connnonwealth Human Ecology Council as aprelude to the Uni ted Nations Conference on Human Settlements, the HABITAT conference, which will take place in Vancouver, Canada, in May and June 1976.
The Commonwealth Human Ecology Council (CHEC) was set up to find ways of helping Commonwealth countries to cope with human ecological problems by providing an agency that could promote understanding and pool the knowledge and experience available in this field.
