Books in the Greer-Heard Lectures series

The question of God and Cosmology raises the deepest questions of human existence: Why is there something rather than nothing? Or, to put it more personally, Why am I here? The 2014 Greer-Heard Forum featured Christian philosopher William Lane Craig and atheist cosmologist Sean Carroll presenting their views before a packed crowd of over nine hundred people. Spirited, civil, and often humorous, the debate highlighted not only their positions, but the full range of possibilities. In this volume, the debate is reprinted and supplemented by a range of essays.

This volume highlights points of agreement and disagreement on the subject of religious pluralism. The dialogue partners in the discussion are Paul F. Knitter, Paul Tillich Professor of Theology, World Religions, and Culture at Union Theological Seminary, and Harold A Netland, professor of Mission and Evangelism and director of Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.

John Dominic Crossan and Ben Witherington III, along with a group of diverse scholars, explore points of agreement and disagreement on the message of Jesus. The book shows how each presents his position in light of the others, as well as their responses to selected questions. The balance of the book is comprised of substantive essays on various facets of the topic from a diverse set of scholars.
