This collection of papers focuses on theories and practices in relation to the arts around the globe, in particular, those that have been ignored or marginalized by analytic or Anglo-American aesthetics and philosophy of art. The intention is to explain specific ways that the concepts of the aesthetic and of the arts might be enriched and enhanced.
The Aesthetics of Architecture contains a diverse set of essays in philosophy of architecture. This illustrated collection features discussions of philosophical issues generated by some of the great gems of professional architecture but also those raised by vernacular architecture.
Two events in particular occasion this volume on the philosophy of photography: the blurring of boundaries that many took to demarcate photographic technology and practices from other representational and artistic technologies and the invention of digital photography.
