In accordance with the aims of the series "Physical Methods in Organic Chemistry," of which this book forms part, the authors r main aim was a systematic account of the most important methods of using the method of dipole moments in organic chemistry and interpreting its results in practice.
In the first chapter we have attempted to present the fundamentals of the NMR method in such a way that the reader with little knowledge of the subject will be able to use the method in practical work for investigating simple compounds and solving simple problems.
