The opening paper focuses on the importance and development of the shipping industry in Turkey during the 1990s, providing a background for the following papers.

The papers included in this study focus on the highly dynamic environment of the marine sector in China and its development over the past 30 years. The papers represent a cross-section of current views from experts from the Far East and Plymouth.
