    Le tavole presentate in questo volume provengono da due antichi e rarissimi volumi appartenenti alla nostra collezione e a quelle dei nostri collaboratori. Essi contengono alcune decine di tavole litografiche in grande formato splendidamente illustrate.Il primo è opera di due insigni artisti contemporanei: Lorenzo Pedrone e Francesco Gonin e fanno riferimento all'esercito di Sua Maestà il re di Sardegna negli anni immediatamente precedenti la prima guerra di Indipendenza del 1848.Si tratta di 30 tavole accompagnate da cartigli indicanti alcune note uniformologiche. Nella seconda parte invece presentiamo una raccolta di 20 tavole litografiche a cui sono state aggiunte 2 tavole di dimensione doppia al termine del volume, relative alla guerra di Crimea del 1854-55, alla Battaglia di Cernaja e ai piemontesi sotto le mura di Sebastopoli. Ogni tavola è accompagnata da una nota didascalica descrittiva l'evento rappresentato in seconda pagina. Le tavole sono tutte relative a eventi di guerra avvenuti sul campo di battaglia, vi sono ritratti eroi morenti, militari e scene d'insieme.
