Sigrid Undset (1882ΓÇô1949) was a Norwegian writer who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1928. Her most famous work is the trilogy ΓÇ£Kristin LavransdatterΓÇ¥ about life in Norway during the middle ages. First published in 1922, ΓÇ£ The Mistress of HusabyΓÇ¥ is the second novel in the trilogy and continues the story of strong-willed heroine Kristin as she attempts to rebuild her life in the wake of the Black Death.
