Books in the White Wolves: Issues series

A story about bullying and being 'one of the gang'. Carly hasn't been herself lately - it seems that she's 'lost her fizz'. She is being teased and excluded by the girls who were once her best friends, and feels there is no one she can talk to about her problems. Then Carly finds a stray dog and suddenly her so-called friends don't matter so much.

Luke goes to see his grandpa every day after school. He likes it there, and enjoys helping with Grandpa's pigeons. But Grandpa gets sick and muddled and needs more than Luke's help. When he goes into hospital, events take a turn for the worse and suddenly Luke has to grow up very fast... This is a story about love, loss and dealing with death.

Contains five literacy lesson plans and five photocopiable activities for each of the three graded story books in the Year 3 and 4 strands. The activities are designed for guided reading sessions in schools, in which each class is divided into groups of children with a comparable level of reading experience.
