Birmingham Poetry Review, founded in 1987, is an annual national and premier journal of poetry. Each issue contains a featured poet, a featured essay, poetry, and book reviews. This issue features the poetry of Betty Adcock and ann essay by Nick Norwood. The editor is Adam Vines.
Written over many years in many circumstances and locations, these poems tell the story of one family. Bahner has created poems while standing at the kitchen sink, playing with her children in her yard, or waking in the night, knowing that her husband Max was a steady pleasure and strength. Put aside in a notebook, the poems accumulated - in pencil and pen on papers large and small, paper-clipped and dated.
