Since the 1st edition of this book was published in 1991, it has been a widely used reference book for many astrologers and their students who have recognized the value and importance in horoscope interpretation of the midpoints--the halfway point between any two planets or a planet and a highly significant point such as Midheaven, Ascendant or the north or south Node of the Moon. The format of this edition is very similar to the first edition, but you will find that the author has updated the interpretive text, so do read it carefully...and if you have not used midpoints routinely before, you will soon realize how significant they can be in chart interpretation! Following are a few comments from well-known astrologers familiar with the first edition and midpoint techniques.
This illustrated introduction to Cosmobiology and Uranian Astrology, first published in 1989, has become the most frequently recommended book among students, practitioners and teachers of as the best book of instruction in 90 dial techniques.
Astrologer Gayle Geffner, through her personal and consulting experience, has done considerable work with people who suffer from attention deficit and/or hyperactivity disorders, ADD and ADHD, or who have close associates who do. Through this she has developed a sense of factors and patterns in their horoscopes that are sufficiently notable to be considered "markers" of these conditions. Among the markers, she found the asteroid Hidalgo to be particularly significant, so this book also introduces Hidalgo to those who have not yet have studied it in charts. The book includes an ephemeris of Hidalgo for 1950 through 2100. Geffner's book, which includes several case studies with charts, is written to give astrologers insight into the understanding and the astrological counseling of those who have ADD or ADHD, or are dealing with ADD or ADHD in a family member or close associate. It is NOT intended in any way to substitute for proper care by a physician. It does show how astrology can be of value in understanding the methods, as well as the timing, that can assist toward overcoming, evolving and learning to cope with ADD and ADHD.
This book has a wealth of interesting astrological and spiritual topics. First among them is how an author's horoscope and birth data can be discovered through an analysis of his or her patterns of writing-and further, how this method can be useful in chart analysis and in the rectification of an unknown birth time. Several charts are demonstrated. Other topics include how patterns can be found in spiritual growth and death, within families, and in our yearly patterns of individual physical and spiritual development. You'll also find chapters on the relationship of astrology to biology, left-handedness, the historical ages of the zodiac and ancient writers. In a chapter on "Movie Moods," Jakubowsky demonstrates how astrology can be seen though the history of the 20th century by relating their themes to the sign of transiting Neptune at the time each movie was released. The concluding chapter is summary of discoveries in the authors 14 prior books.
