A book that tells a story without completely narrating it!You are the protagonist in the book and you choose how your character would have lived this story, the situations they must be in, based on the emotions of the poems and short stories. The story starts in a small house with the character remembering a life that was much simpler than what it is now. The journey that follows is an emotional mayhem, something that is very much a part of life. But I'll tell you this; the ending is a happy and calm one. However, this is not necessarily a spoiler because you are the one who will decide how the protagonist got there! The poems and short stories are just various pinholes into your character's mind. So, the story is in your hands. Make it as wonderful, as dark and as beautiful as you want.Make a story of your own.
>On the surface these poems may appear simple-lithe gatherings woven into something slightly strange but vaguely familiar. Possibly what's happening here is that there is a different kind of sense-making at work. One not held hostage by the one-dimensional, linear tradition of the daytime brain but more interconnected, web-like in how it draws together its behaviors. The poems here serve as testimony to the fact that certain forms of understanding are best produced not by reductionist thinking but when informed by complexity. The task, of course, is to state that simply-words simple, ideas not. When successful, memory might be enticed to linger a while and learn something. Expect to find in these little wisdoms more of the unusual than the mundane, more surprise than tradition. Even so, there will often be that palpable something that says, "this just might be true."

Alexis has a secret about her-...er, himself. Well, it's not really a secret - at least not outwardly - but it hasn't been expressed aloud to anyone else, except the therapist. He hasn't told anyone yet, but plans on telling Sofía first, mostly because she lives thousands of miles away in Buenos Aires. Alexis and Sofía have been pen pals since the 6th grade, and since they have never actually met IRL (in real life), Alexis feels more comfortable telling her first. Sofía, too, has just learned of a secret that her parents have been keeping from her, one that upends her life and changes the way she thinks about everything. In a letter that Sofía inadvertently finds in her father's desk drawer, she learns that her abuelos - her mother's parents - are not only not her real grandparents, but who they are, and more importantly who they were, are in direct conflict with who Sofía is and what she believes. While Alexis struggles with identity, so too, does Sofía. In this story, two virtual friends work together to solve their own mysteries, one intensely personal and the other with how she now relates to her own family as the secrets of the past - the family's and the country's - become even more real.

Eisenhower. 'In years to come it will be a great thing for a man to be able to say: I fought at Arnhem.' - Field Marshal Montgomery. 'We have no regrets.' - General R. Urquhart, Commander First Airborne Division. Does all human passion, all memory, all imagination come merely from the chemistry in our brains, like the movements of a clock follow from the arrangement of its cogs and wheels? Are we just clockwork dolls? Or is there an organizing principle at work, something we can ask for answers to the important questions of existence ... something that might answer? Dave Burns has asked. Now he, and his friends, might not live long enough to understand the reply.
