I embark on one of the most interesting and scariest trips in my life. I was still so new at this that I wished that someone else would take this task on for me. Rachel and I head off to a territory, brand new to the two of us. She is more than excited, being a young teenager. I am not willing to go so eagerly, but in the end, I find that I must tackle this fear like David against Goliath. Another deep breath, "e;Okay, Lord, this is it. Again I pray for one of your guardian angels to watch over us as we do this trip."e; A bead of sweat rolls off my forehead and down my cheek. We were on our way. No turning back. The trip that we were getting ready to embark upon would forever change our lives. We didn't realize it at the time.
This writing shares portions of my devotional journaling with you the reader. I continue to be amazed about reading the Word of God and how it continues to speak and teach on God's plan for life in this world. As well the Word teaches, heals and meets needs timely and at times when I'm not aware of my own needs. My desire is that others will be encouraged to read the Word regularly and to take up the discipline of journaling. Be open to be blessed.
Is our Lord's return imminent? Many Christians believe it is"e;"e;emphasizing that He has promised to return and that as His disciples, we must be ready. Yet in spite of their assurance, surprisingly few of God's people may actually be prepared for His appearing. Of the many signs suggesting that our Lord's return is near, two in particular are of great interest"e;"e;the rise of Babylon and the restoration of Israel. These two major end-time events as foretold in Scripture have great implications for us as Americans, and more specifically as Christians. America in Prophecy: A Nation at a Crossroads examines these two major prophetic indicators and not only reveals their importance in determining how close to our Lord's return we actually are but also their connection to what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. It unveils the big picture regarding end-time Bible prophecy as it relates to America and shows how we are indeed standing at a crossroads not only as a nation but as God's corporate body, the Church, and as its individual members in particular. America in Prophecy seeks to answer the question of where and how we, as Christians living in the United States of America at this particular juncture in history, fit into God's end-time scenario. Most importantly, it explains what we must do to ensure that we are ready for our Lord's return. Of all the books currently on the market, one may be hard-pressed to find a more pertinent, timely, and compelling message for today's Christian. Outside of the Bible, this is quite possibly one of the most exciting books you will ever read on the subject of end-time Bible prophecy and the necessity for believer's everywhere to make certain they are ready for our Lord's return.
Bella is a little girl that loves flowers and wishes she had her own flowers to take care of.2
D. L. Moody once heard Henry Varley say, "e;The world has yet to see what God will do with a man fully consecrated to Him. Moody was struck to his soul and, when the words would not leave him, responded, 'By God's help, I aim to be that man.'"e; When God called Avery to follow him as a true disciple, Avery knew he must make a similar commitment or remain a mediocre Christian for the rest of his life. His surrender and his filling of the Spirit initiated a spiritual life of impact with global results. Avery Willis is well-known, especially within the Southern Baptist denomination, for his involvement in movements of God over the past fifty years. Avery Willis's obedience to God led him to be a church planter in the United States and to strive for indigenous church planting in Indonesia, where he served as a missionary. He was a pioneer and leader in spiritual renewal, disciple-making, decentralized theological education, global mission partnerships, and chronological Bible storying. He is a well-known author, most notably of the MasterLife discipleship materials. This biography-written memoir-style through his own journals, letters, and newsletters to his intercessors-recounts Avery's life journey, his spiritual encounters and struggles, and the daily habits that Avery demonstrated as a disciple. It is less about his greatest moments than the personal daily choices to follow God with all his heart. It is the story of a man committed to God's purposes and passion to bring "e;as many people of the world as possible"e; to God's redemptive grace in Jesus, regardless of the cost.
Called is not about chasing. It's about following. It's not about going. It's about staying. It's not about us. It's about Him. It's not a "e;how to."e; It's a "e;who through."e; It doesn't say, "e;I can do this."e; It says, "e;He'll get me through this."e; It's not about shining bright. It's about reflecting His light. It's not about aiming to please. It's about pleasing the King. When these six little verbs take root in our heart, that's when we are able to start living set apart:need, be, see, know, grow, and sowThese six little verbs are stepping stones into the places God is calling each of us. Unique paths paved by the same six words"e;"e;paths that are both practical and purposeful. This Bible study is for the woman wanting more but tired of dream chasing and fear facing only to discover she's still rat racing. King Solomon in Ecclesiastes mentions this chasing after the wind, but in John, King Jesus reminds us that is all about abiding in Him. Called simplifies our role and magnifies His role in purposeful living. This Bible study is topical in nature but draws out timeless truths from the Old and New Testament to bridge the gap between truth and grace in our own hearts, equipping and empowering us to answer the call He has on each of our lives.

When asking someone why they hold a political or social justice belief, they often are at a loss to defend it. We need articulate defenders of the biblical justice agenda. As people of faith, more of us should be able to explain why we reach out to others to assist during times of need or at times when they cannot speak up for themselves. This is the example set for us through the ministry of our Old Testament prophets and New Testament Jesus. Lay people often want to get right to the point and not always have to wade through the academic jargon of the various religious disciplines. My volume gives them some examples of how certain scripture, once it is employed, was and is used to support the mandate to "e;feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, and set free the captives"e; and that the nations will be judged by the way they treat the "e;least of those among us."e; The volume has real world applications. Justice can be done through direct service; education about the issues; or systemic advocacy as shown here.
Don't be fooled by all the different stories about Christmas. It's because the real Christmas story has been under attack. As innocent as it seems, we are in a battle. The battle is not over entertaining our children with stories that make up the Christmas season. It's over making sure our children understand there is only one real Christmas story, and how can we tell a story if we don't include the ending. Jesus did come into the world as a baby, but he left as our savior. I'm not trying to take away all the stories told about Christmas; I'm just trying to tell the greatest story ever told. And it's not even my story"e;"e;it's God's story about how much he loves us and what he did to prove it. It is my hope that all children will know the real Christmas story.
Jesus wanted me to write this book to help other people throughout the world. When I was sexually abused by my dad. There were no books in the library to help me understand. I thought I was the only one in this world that this happened to. I prayed and asked Jesus to help me and send me other girls that this had happened to and Jesus answered my prayers and let me know a lot of victims. Amen.
From Alcatraz to Africa is the amazing story of the Konnerup family who were pioneer missionaries in East Africa. It is the story of how two young people from different settings came to Jesus, met each other, and together answered the call of God to be missionaries in Ethiopia. By many fascinating stories, you will be taken through the difficulties of living in primitive areas with unique customs, see life as a missionary in the pioneer days of the 1960s and 1970s, observe all kinds of struggles to live, including separation from their children, view what ministry in rural Africa was like, and eventually learn how they persevered during a communist takeover. At the same time, God worked through this family to reach many people with the Gospel. People who had never even heard the name of Jesus and who lived in fear of evil spirits found the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Many lives in northern Ethiopia were transformed from fear of the devil to freedom in Jesus Christ. The Konnerup's encounters were harrowing, funny, incredible, and even miraculous as they experienced God's protection and answers to prayer. So what does Alcatraz have to do with all of this? In a sense, part of this journey starts there. As you read their journey from Alcatraz to Africa, you will come away inspired as you see how God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things. No doubt, you will gain an appreciation of the power of prayer and believe that it really does work.
Jesus has an open door and invites you to come on in. These are true stories of love and faith and how lives are changed when you dare to put the Lord first in your life and decide to follow Jesus. Many of us think we know what the price system is, and because of this, we do not take the time to explore it to any real depth. This one mistake is perhaps the biggest reason our economy is in such bad shape. It is the reason countries around the world have the economic hardship that they face today. You can do something to help the world dig itself out from under these problems. It is said that knowing about a problem is the first step in resolving that problem. Knowing about the price system could save your economic life, your family's future, and perhaps even the planet. These are big claims, and it is hard to believe that the price system could be threatening all of these things. This book addresses those claims in a way that is easy for the reader to follow. It is not a book about accounting, as the name might suggest. It is rather about the intrigue surrounding the diabolical system that you may have thought was harmless. For many people who read it, it will be an eye-opener. Some people with vested interest in the price system would rather you not read it. This book is not written to favor "e;them,"e; and "e;they"e; stand to lose their control should you begin to see the world from a different vantage point. This vantage point could be many times more precious to your personal freedom and sense of well-being, than you could imagine. Granted you will not like some of the things you hear, but personal growth generally demands that you face some pain first. In a way, it is a self-help book, because it presents a new worldview that puts you on the spot. This is not my attempt at hype, but it is my honest attempt to encourage you to find out just what the price system really is.
Maverick was a strong and outgoing blond-haired, blue-eyed sixteen-year-old that had the world at his fingertips, or so his family thought. A life full of friends, laughter, and love, Maverick succeeded in absorbing and influencing the world around him. The youngest of three, Maverick was protected as he was the source of endless entertainment and teenage independence-based challenges. Maverick died by suicide on June 17, 2016. Three days after his father's birthday and two days before Father's Day. Walks in the Dark is the real story written from Maverick's father's perspective honed over months of introspection on very early morning walks, education, interactions with other grieving parents, and long talks with his wife, Tracey, Maverick's mom. A story about the short life and untimely death of Maverick, his amazingly tight bond with his mother, as well as the processes his family employs in attempting to understand how this could happen, and to accept life without their Maverick.
A seemingly benevolent endeavor to help others in a remote part of theworld turned out to be much more life-changing than ever anticipated. Afaith-driven desire to put his beliefs into action by taking a mission trip toHaiti led Jeff Newell and his family to experience multiple opportunitiesfor personal and spiritual growth and gain a profound appreciation of thepeople and culture they encountered. Almost immediately the tables were turned when they found themselves onthe receiving end of the many life lessons that were unknowingly, yet subtlybeing revealed. Come follow their journey in the rural mountains of Haitias they experience the importance of building relationships, dependency onGod, sharing from our need and not our excess, and finding God presentin everyday occurrences. Open Your Eyes masterfully captures the essence of nearly two decadesof routine daily situations, turning them into both meaningful learningexperiences as well as humorous anecdotes. "e;I have enjoyed reading your book. I was captivated from the first paragraph."e; Lori Sabol, Tippecanoe County Bar Association President, Lafayette, IN. "e;Thank you for sharing your vision, your mission, your actions and your reflections. I was inspired, informed and educated by your work."e; Fequiere Vilsaint, owner of EducaVision, Miami, FL. "e;I am very grateful to Jeff for writing this book to preserve and to share the lessons learned in the field. I have learned a great deal, as something of a second-generation fellow traveler, from reading these stories, and I am confident that many readers of this book will similarly be gifted."e; John Nichols, STL, PhD, Rensselaer, IN. "e;I have read through it twice and found it to be superbly written and a much needed message, not only to be read, but reflected upon by anyone doing mission in any place (including here at home). It is very important to include 'lived experiences and examples' verses just theories and ideas. Jeff had done this very, very well!"e; Father Ron Schneider, pastor St. Ann Church, Baldwin, MI.

What happens to the near-perfect life of an attorney when her husband and law partner decides to become a United Methodist pastor in a small, rural Oklahoma town? The results are in Greetings from LeFlore County-the Lord, the Law, and the Laughter in Rural Oklahoma. This humorous work details one family's real-life adventures in easy-to-read snippets that pull readers in from the first page. Holly had been an attorney in a busy city for seventeen years when her husband and law partner answered God's call to ministry, and moved them and their three children to a small town in southeastern Oklahoma. Holly found a job as an assistant district attorney for the county where she suddenly became "e;that new lady DA."e; This book began as emails to her family back home when she found herself prosecuting criminals and being a pastor's wife in a funny world that was quite different from the city she was used to. If you have ever been amused by funny court stories on the Internet, entertained by a courtroom TV show, or intrigued by rural reality shows, you will love the stories of this family's adventures from moving day (and the humorous moving truck incident), through the hilarious trials and tribulations of the local criminal courts (he was arrested for what?), to the beautiful blessings and special small-town relationships that led to tearful goodbyes after three amazing in years in LeFlore County.
We are a Bible-believing country. History is repeating itself and reminding us of our mission, for me a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. My job is not over; neither is my education. I am a child of the change from twentieth century to twenty-first century. Have I educated my children on God's love and will for his children? At seventy-seven, I am of the Josh generation and 2008, the beginning of change to pass the education of the Benjia generation to you and confine the Miletus generation must do. Over the thousand years in front of us, our political system is melting away for Jesus to come back. Before the second coming of Christ can return, there are certain that most he fulfilled. God has always prepared his people for the wars against our sinful nature. We are hung tested. And must be taught about the delusion we are seeing with our eye and hearing with our ears today. Satan is not a man in a red suit with horns and a tail. He is a flesh and human. He is a man of sin. The time of the millennium age is around the bend. I believe the Benji generation is here. Jesus began his ministry at age twelve. Jewish children have their coming of age when they reach thirteen. We are given forty years as probation. 13 + 40=53A. Gives the timeline of our testing. B. It tells us about the world falling away from his protection. C. It tells us who our leadership was in Judges 3 to 4. The reward was forty years of peace. We are living now in this period of testing. And have been tricked by an evil spirit. And did not pass the test of a world of nations who are guilty being drained by an evil spirit. And fail to recognize that God has not been called to lead us out of harm's way. God is not and will not be forgotten. There is a rement. And our prayers will be heard. And the promise of Isaiah 19: 1 will be kept. Because we have been beset with Isaiah 19 verse 1 to 25. For those living in fear I believe the world as a whole is Egypt (Warknus) and we are living in fear of evil spirit. And have parted from God's protection. For those living in love and hope, we fear not. This is the time for prayers. God has heard our cry. From January 20 til the present, there has not been one week without a flood. He is keeping his word. Check it out.
An inspiring book of short stories that transports the reader from current reality across the threshold to the supernatural. This book stimulates the senses and, based mostly on references from scripture, reaffirms our hope of eternity.
The one-minute messages were written in response to the pastor's one-minute messages written on the back of the church bulletin every week. After saving all of them, the Sunday school outlines were added to the collection of writings and then, in 2013, the Lord gave instructions to add more of His teachings and arrange them into a manuscript format. Since it was His work, it was filed away for four years, except for parts of it given to individuals. His recent instructions were to submit the writings to Christian Faith Publishing. Their approval came sooner than expected. Therefore, God will use it to His Glory in the way it was meant, revealing His heart toward mankind.

The author shares from her journal over a one-year span the diverse challenges that the reader may experience while implementing the process to achieve their dreams. I had no idea of the direction my life would take when we brought home our Labrador retriever puppy. I had no plans of being involved in any American Kennel Club activities or in breeding. I grew up as a city girl who loved music. Who knew I'd be smitten by a puppy and the direction of my life would be changed forever? All the joys and tears are worth my journey to MacHaven.
After being laid off after many years of devoted service for the second time, I knew that God had a plan, and I turned it all over to him. This was a far cry from my reaction to the first layoff. I prayed a lot but was devastated, worried constantly, and my self-esteem was low. God still answered my prayers, and I found another job in the same field the same week my severance pay ended. When I was laid off again after almost eight years, I knew God was in control. Even though I was almost sixty, and the unemployment level was at the highest, I felt God's peace. I now had the time to "e;stop and smell the roses,"e; as they say. This collection of poems, prayers, and reflections came about from my desire to get closer to God and to try to really listen to what he has to say to me. They were inspired by places, events, people, scripture reading, and meditations. These were all inspiration points that God used to speak to me. In other words, they were inspired by God. My hope is that in sharing my inspirations, others will find their own inspiration points.
Finally, a book that shows that conservative economics is neither fantasy nor "e;voodoo "e; and also explains conservative economics in language and terms meant for the nonprofessional layperson . This manuscript provides the argument that conservative economics is based on sound economic theory all the way back to Adam Smith, the father of modern-day economics. This book first provides the reader with the theoretical bases of conservative economics, stated in understandable lay terms. Along with the theory, it identifies general public policies consistent with the conservative theory with clearly stated justifications to the conservative policy doctrines. The second part of this book is focused on proposing public policies on a number of current national economic issues, complete with arguments on behalf of those policies. Throughout this manuscript, Judeo-Christian values underlie the economic theory and policies proposed. Contained herein is perhaps the first, most truly comprehensive composition on conservative economics ever written.
