This is a story of a three-year-old caught up in the horrors of World War II. The "quiet time" in the Dutch East Indies, now called Indonesia, was replaced by the ravages of war and Japanese concentration camps. We spent three and a half years in three horrid camps. My mother was responsible for three children, including myself and Grandma. We ate any creeping or sliming creature trying to stay alive until we were saved by two atomic bombs. The Indonesians declared independence on August 17, 1945. Our family was then endangered by murdering youth gangs who roamed the island of Java. We could not go back to our plantation. My father saw handwriting on the wall and immediately began the process to immigrate to the United States. This was very difficult since we were stateless. He was arrested and jailed for allegedly being a Nazi sympathizer without any due process. We finally received the requisite papers to board the American President Lines ship The Jefferson. We sailed to the United States in March and arrived at San Pedro in April after a five-week journey at sea. Our family experienced culture shock when we finally came ashore. My long journey is a story of all the funny things I did as I grew up, including adventures in a Dutch colony and learning to be an American. You will have fun when you read my exploits with successes and many surprising endings. We hope that you will appreciate the American dream I realized in my long journey.

I Shall Not Die but Live is my personal journey that I took on the road to health that almost cost me my very own life, both spiritually and physically. Take a walk with me through the pages of this book as I open up about my struggling experience in my spiritual life as well as my physical health."I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations" (Isaiah 42:6 ESV).
Many teachers understand that context is everything. From the annuals of history, humanity has generally known what has occurred upon the earth for the last two millennia. Concerning the first two millennia before the common era, humanity uses the science of archeology to verify the written word of our fathers to better understand the civilizations of our ancestors. And only in the cradles of civilization, by the guide of experts, can humanity roughly estimate what has occurred during the third and fourth millennia before the common era. For now, we speak of the birth of civilization commonly associated with the written word.Life can be daunting as people often keep secret their word. Yet one matter, which has been ridiculed by some and cherished by others throughout all millennia, is not kept secret. I wish you could see what I have seen. Do not despair; you will see what I have seen. I hope that you meet your Creator with joy. It is my prayer that the hidden truths of life will benefit you. For many, including myself, have prayed for the context of where our world is heading in the third millennium of the common era. And many promises have been made throughout all millennia. I do not wish to confuse you, for large societies are quite complex, requiring great patience. Yet the L-rd G-d remembers. (Enjoy the fishes.)
A Philosophy of Muddy Boots Leadership presents a Bible-based leadership philosophy. These thoughts (some original, most not) are not rocket science. They are basic common sense and as applicable to everyday life as they are to the battlefield, classroom, or boardroom. Most are drawn from those who have influenced the author the most-pastors, military leaders, and football coaches. In this uncertain and dynamic environment, there are a few constants. In this book, you will find a clear and concise set of principles and fundamentals that will assist leaders in maintaining mission focus and focusing on the team. Why will it help?Today, there is no shortage of leadership books, consultants, and experts. We hear terms like servant, authentic, transformational, adaptive, etc. These concepts are valid and important, but they are focused on the conceptual, not on the actionable.A Philosophy of Muddy Boots Leadership provides a set of biblically-based, actionable principles for leaders. The goal of the book is to provide overwhelmed, understaffed leaders or mid-level managers a set of techniques and processes that in times of stress and uncertainty will act as a blueprint for success. This is not a checklist but a thought-provoking set of guiding biblical principles that can be used every day.

What is pride and what is its outcome is second in a series of What Is...? books authored by David Jensen. This book deals with pride, where it started, what influence it had in the world, and what will be the final result. We will see how Satan fell from heaven because of pride, how he deceived man in the garden, and how that pride had continuously caused man to fall further from the presence of God. This was written to show the ugliness of pride and to hopefully draw people to repentance and humbleness before God.
There is no doubt about it, God's purpose is to save the world and He has a plan to accomplish it in Christ. Everyone who believes Him seeks understanding without biases. Anyone who denies it is the Antichrist.Praise God that He will save every soul that we love. Praise God that He will save every soul that we despise. Praise God that He will save us all. Praise God that His justice is the salvation of an unjust world. Praise God that His mercy, and His grace cannot be compromised by the sins of men.He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment--to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will. (Eph. 1:9-11 NIV)
