Jem Stoneheart is a teenager who lives with his missionary parents deep in the heart of the Amazon rain forest, where he grew up, becoming fluent in the native language at an early age. He spent countless hours enthralled by the tales told around the village fires at night, tales of impossible things-beautiful, shimmering people who seem to disappear at will, frightening evil creatures, giants even. These legends and stories seem to call out incessantly to Jem when he hears them. These fleeting glimpses of an exciting fantasy world were about to become very real as Jem Stoneheart and his best friend, Paco, explore the remote headwaters of a legendary river. Not only is this fantasy world real, but everyone seems to be eagerly awaiting their arrival! Could Jem Stoneheart really be the long-awaited "Gem-Stone," who could wield the power of the great sword Azul? Were he and Paco really supposed to help free the Havelfin? Jem and Paco sure didn''t think so. At least not at first.

Reveal, Release, Renew was written in my wholeness and my truth, centered around my personal experience growing up in what society acknowledges as a "broken home!" I speak on my life''s experience, which is very personal to me! I choose to give blow-for-blow details regarding these situations in hopes it helps rescue or bring awareness and acknowledgment to what is not considered in most families as toxic and/or destructive things happening to young people! I focused on my experience in each situation, and I''m giving my audience some foundation as to why I am who I am!I speak about my viewpoint on where I lived as a child and how often being unstable affected me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I expose how I fell into certain pits as a youth due to my toxic way of thinking which was caused by major traumas I experience as a child, traumas such as different forms of child abuse and sexual abuse. I share in detail my experience with sexual predators and how the Lord helped me to escape that situation. I give some spiritual insight on issues that I was faced to overcome. I give the full back story of where my trust issues began, and I also go into me experiencing a few of my spiritual gifts in early childhood. As I grew spiritually, I noticed these same issues often tend to show up in many young girls who grow up in broken homes. So I go into explaining the revelations I received regarding these traumas. Again, this book was written in hopes that other women can read it and gain understanding and insight into her own traumatic experiences in life. Possibly she can understand where she may need the Lord to help her overcome as well!

His love and comfort are the most important things in this world that never change. Mr. Peek-A-Boo is a character I drew in my late teen years to get me through a lot of tough times. Skipp heard the squeak and strain of the taut rope as it pulled on the pier holding the forty-foot schooner wobbling in the Santa Cruz Harbor. He had just finished sanding a ten-foot section of wooden rail, and he was dipping the hog's hair brush into the varnish when he heard the sound of a young woman's voice calling his name.He had dreamed about meeting a beautiful woman in such a place. "e;So you live on a boat,"e; she said. "e;Oh, we have got to see that."e;Varnish doesn't pine, so he kept his brush moving along the boat rail. Something in her voice reminded him of his Missouri farm girl cousins."e;Open the hatch, go on down, and look around if you want,"e; he told her. "e;Let me get the lid on this varnish and clean the brush, and then we can talk."e;This story began with his audacious mother, a hard-drinking Arkansas farm girl. She fled her second marriage, and she took Skipp with her to Kentucky. Skipp and Lola's story emerge as they travel throughout the Midwest United States, and he changed from a Missouri farm boy to a "e;surfer- wannabe"e; on the Florida east coast.Conflicted, the surfer man-child traveled between the east and west coasts, unsettled, looking for the right reasons to stay. Unbeknownst to him, both he and his mother were pursued by the Hound of heaven, and it wasn't until he acted upon his Bible reading that he made the connection that would lead him to the kingdom that could not be shaken.
I love to run, and my love for running has taken me all around the world. From Boston and New York to Antarctica and South Africa, I have gotten to see some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. I have run one hundred fifteen marathons in all fifty states as well as the seven continents. Like all athletes, I have had setbacks. Through faith, perseverance, and determination I have kept going and learned that the human will is powerful.Perseverance is one of my favorite words. I recently read about Walt Disney. While everyone knows the iconic brand of Disney, the story of how Walt Disney created the empire is very inspiring. As a young man, Walt Disney was fired from a local newspaper as his boss thought he lacked creativity. After a failed animation company went under, he was barely able to pay his bills, even ate dog food to survive. With his last few dollars, Walt Disney made his way to Hollywood to try and make it big. Unfortunately, his early time in Hollywood was just as bad. He was told Mickey Mouse would fail, faced constant rejection, and seemed destined to never succeed. But Walt persisted and went on to grow the company with amusement parks, feature films, and is known as a cultural icon.Learn to take a calculated risk and don't stop doing what you love just because the world has shown you obstacles. Ironically, years later, Walt's Disney acquired the Kansas City Star newspaper--the one that said he lacked creativity all those years ago.One of my goals in writing a book is to inspire people to dream big, whether it is running or something else. Do not let anyone, including yourself, say that a goal is impossible or unattainable!
The Extra-Ordinary Journey From A Worldly Love to A Godly Love is a piece of my life and others' lives where we share our experiences of pain and disappointment from divorce and broken relationships. These true stories of the piercing events that transpired in our lives took us to dark places and made many of us lose hope in love until we went through our healing process and discovered what genuine love is. Some of the stories may make you laugh, cry, or just shake your head (SMH)!In this book, you will find meditation, scriptures, poems, and an area for you to jot down your thoughts while reading about our experiences. I conducted a survey, which included men's and women's viewpoints about love and relationships, and I have included their answers in this book as well. As you read and travel with us on this journey, it is my hope that you keep an open mind and ask God to speak to you as you may find your story between these pages and discover that you, too, can be healed if you trust the process even when the process does not seem trustworthy.
