Police work is a very unique occupation. There is no other job that you can actually compare to it. First responders and firemen are often compared to what police officers experience. However, let me try to explain some of the differences. There are similarities, but often, police officers face a different set of circumstances a lot of the time. Police officers wear a variety of different "hats." For instance, when was the last time you saw a first responder or a fireman settle a domestic disturbance (chaplain's hat)? When was the last time you saw a first responder or a fireman in a fight with a criminal (police hat)? When was the last time you saw a first responder or a fireman standing against a riot (policeman's hat again)? When was the last time you saw a first responder or a fireman enter a business during a reported armed robbery (policeman's hat yet again)? You get the picture, I'm sure. Have you ever wanted to be a police officer? Would you rather watch it on TV? Would you like to accompany him/her on road patrol or while a detective investigates the death of someone? Or would you like to attend an autopsy of a seven-year-old boy who was beaten to death by his stepfather? Well, I am inviting you to read about these and more, which are true and as accurate to the way it really happened as to the very best of my memory. There are newspaper articles that verify nearly every one of those events. I only hope you will enjoy your ride.

Many of us have the same feelings regarding criticism. It crosses gender lines, religious lines, color lines, and race lines, and that is, no one readily likes to be criticized or critiqued. No one likes to be at fault, and no one likes to be the object of humiliation, but in order to become the person you were meant to be, being criticized or critiqued is par for the course. It is a process we all must endure. This guide is intended to provide the keys in becoming an even better woman. God has made Himself so very plain to me in my life and in the last fifty-years with my husband. We have seen His hand working for us, with us, and to us. My desire is to first reach our family and to show that God is alive and well in a very mighty way in the life of all of His children. Most people are too superficial in their relationship with the Lord and do not see or understand His presence. My main goal is to make God real in everyday life and realize that we can live our life in the presence of the Almighty God by entering into the holiest of holies with Him each day. Our daily walk with the Lord should be lived in the conscious presence of God as we carry out our mundane, everyday duties of life. My prayer is that this book will enlighten, encourage, enable, and energize you to find a deeper relationship with our heavenly Father for His glory! I desire for the "candle of my life" to penetrate into the dark recesses of this world and light the way for the discouraged, despondent, and dejected people all over this earth.

Crossing the Borderline started out as a series of journal entries; some of which were e-mailed to T. R.'s therapist, pastor, and pastor's wife. The world today groans under the weight of many crushing problems, but it's not intellectuals, presidents, or political parties who have the solutions. The rescue agents are born-again believers who fall under the "great commission," and that's you. This command for you to go into the whole world is not given by One who would leave you an orphan. God will equip you, but you must do it His way. Once you're a believer, God appoints you to two roles immediately: One as the receiver of God's word; one as the deliverer of God's word. Many faithful men and women have little problem understanding the first role. They see themselves as student-learners who must grow in God's word and get enlightenment by the Holy Spirit. Many faithfully fulfill the biblical prerequisites of prayer and preparation, and they become quite good at understanding the scriptures. Over the years, the Holy Spirit guides them into deeper and deeper insights into God's word. It is as they move into the role of deliverer of God's word that they have problems. Many people will "shut" them out; the delivery has failed to adopt a biblically required role change. To be effective in this new role, God's messengers must "Speak with God's Voice" (title). This means they must speak authoritatively and prophetically. These biblical prerequisites have been very much misunderstood and abandoned, leaving the message from God's word a mere man-made endeavor. God may bless this type of message, but the only way to guarantee God's anointing is to deliver it His way with His voice.
