The Sovereign Rose of Morbid Lore is the fictional account of a spiritual journey, characterized by a flower. In this case, a morbid rose that experiences metamorphosis and is transformed into an alternate life form. More specifically, an introspective bicyclist that reflects and assesses the meaning of its own life. From the beginning of life to the end of validity; depicting itself as a worldly, ethereal traveler of the earth as well as the universe, trying to differentiate between reality and otherworldly phenomena.Chasing its dreams “from here to the grassy hills of eternity.” Overcoming the obstacles of life, as well as the atrocities of humanity, and the trials and tribulations of all people that have ever lived.Through the use of symbolism, all names, characters, and narratives represent the primary character’s personal feelings and or emotions; spiritual, as well as demoniacal. The quest, the journey, the odyssey is to experience the fibers and the fabrics of sovereignty, despite its inherent morbidity. To be loved, and to be forgiven for all of its sins and all of its imperfections by the omniscient, omnipresent Lord, so that it can be accepted into the flowerbeds of heaven, and spend eternity with all the insects of the world and the buzzing of the bees.

By the time the war finally ended, it left Edith and me with a big problem. We had no place to live and building materials were scarce. Edith and I put our souls to the grindstone and built a little house. To some, it was little; but to us, it was a mansion. Edith planted beautiful flower beds all around the house, and I built a fence across the back and painted it white. The next five years would be a learning experience. We know all about sitting beside the bed of a sick little girl all night long and waiting for daylight. We know all about long weeks and short paydays. The initial years after the war were Reconstruction years, and everything was in short supply. But through it all, the good Lord showered this little house with blessings, and it became our home. We had made it through the war, and that made us tough. We had lived through the Depression and had learned a long time ago how to make do. We came through those years with flying colors.

Earning our Heavenly Wings was written to have an open discussion with children to have some understanding about death. Children form a strong bond with their family, friends, and pets; and they do not live forever. We must do our best to follow God’s commandments in order to earn our way into heaven. It gives us great hope through the grieving process that God’s promise of everlasting life will reunite us with our loved ones once again in heaven.
