My daughter wanted a pet she could hold. My aunt had purchased a parakeet for my cousin, and they were enjoying the pet. We lived in a village with under three thousand people, so we could certainly not buy a pet there. Ten miles north, there was the town of Bloomington, Illinois, which had two shopping malls at that time. One of them had a large Woolworth store, which had a department that sold birds and everything you needed. My daughter assumed the responsibility of caring for Chippie and teaching him to talk. If birds have a personality, he had a good one and everyone in the family made him a part of their life. He actually seemed part of the family, and we wanted him to enjoy his life with us. You may wonder why we only got one bird, but we knew that if you want your parakeet to talk, you only get one. Chippie was always ready to climb on your finger when you touched his chest. He actually seemed to enjoy being stroked over his head and down his back. I was amazed at the length of the sentence he learned when he said, “Chippie come over here so I can get you.” My husband was clever in what he did, so Chippie could enjoy lunch with him. He was A Great Family Pet.

  • - A Field Manual
by Mark Lambert & Doug Dees
    £15.49

This book is all about you learning to distinguish your voice from God’s, so that you can respond immediately when he taps you on the shoulder to do whatever he wants you to do in any of the relationships in your life. It will also help you to recognize that those people are not in your life accidentally, but have been designed as potential divine encounters before you were ever born, according to Ephesians 2:10. We were made to be relational, and he has called us to be “God with skin on” to impact the world around us.Are we looking for those opportunities, or just making it through our day without giving or getting the blessings he has planned for us and those in our lives? It’s part of who you are, and what he created you to be.

A tapestry needs both the light- and dark-colored thread to compose a powerful image, just as life is made up of our joys and sorrows which are woven together as each generation grows. God’s grace is generational and he has the pattern as the master weaver who pulls together all the threads on life’s loom. Without the past threads, we wouldn’t have the future pattern. Each tapestry is a living tribute to him.

Pastor Leonard J. Buchanan Sr., affectionately known as Pastor Buck, was a high-spirited minister with unconventional aspirations. One night in 2036, he dreamed he was the leader of a group of Christians who had colonized the moon to create a sin-free environment. After he awoke, he believed God had directed him to fulfill the dream and create a land of righteousness. Next he faced a host of challenges in his effort to raise tens of millions of dollars for the unprecedented project. Although there was much skepticism within the Christian community, he successfully pitched the idea to a global audience and was eventually able to secure the necessary funding to make his dream a reality. Pastor Buck’s reputation and credibility was now on the line as he pursued this once in a lifetime opportunity to bring the kingdom of heaven down to the surface of the moon.Pastor Buck coordinated with the National Cosmic Administration and the Lunar Land Management Bureau to transport five hundred church members to the newly constructed Jesus Colony! Initially, everything was fantastic as colonists described their conditions as being second only to heaven. However, within months, policies were established in order to achieve and maintain an acceptable level of righteousness. Ultimately, their natural pursuit of righteousness led to intimidation, strife, and fear. Lunar Crime Enforcement agents began to investigate Jesus Colony when family members on earth notified members of Congress about disturbing and criminal allegations against Pastor Buck. Now under pressure, Pastor Buck did everything within his power to maintain ultimate control of the colonists as his dream faded before his eyes. Afterward, a series of unimaginable events transpired which placed Jesus Colony under further intense scrutiny. Finally, the self-righteous decisions of Pastor Buck forever changed his family, congregation, and the bewildered colonists.

What the world needs more than anything else these days is a chuckle. The source of that chuckle may not be that important but the reality of that chuckle is.For many years, James has written a newspaper column across the United States entitled “Out to Pastor.” His articles are filled with humorous snippets of banter with his wife, horseplay with his grandchildren, observations on today’s politically correct culture as he mourns the good old days, and reflections on his own peculiar (so some would say) personality and preferences. Included is a verse from Scripture and a reflective thought at the end of each article. This book is a collection of fifty-two “Out to Pastor” articles—one for each week of the year. James hopes you will enjoy them and maybe even laugh sidesplittingly on occasion as you read. Most of all, he hopes you will find a fresh joy and an uplifted heart in the reflections of this country pastor.

Do you have dreams? Are you paying close attention to your dreams? And if so, do you believe what you see in your dreams will come true one day? According to JOB 33:14–17, dreams are a way for GOD to speak to us. Well, in my book called MY DREAMS, I give my readers a personal and in-depth look into the dreams and visions I’ve had since I was young. The purpose of my book is to show people how important dreams are, and why we have them, and maybe even give my readers a better understanding of some of their own dreams. And to top it all off, give GOD all the glory for it. So hopefully you would be inspired to read a book that could be the key to unlock the mysteries of your dreams.
