The author has divided the book into three sections. Each section has a mechanical illustration that describes the context of a fundamental law or principle used by the founders when creating this republic and its levels of government. The first section describes the context of the fundamental principles found in "the Laws of Nature." The Laws of Nature restrict man's freewill and identify the areas of criminal law to be enforced by State governments in America. These principles of liberty provide the foundation for the two capacities of all citizens in the new republic. The second illustrates how these fundamental principles are represented in the design of "The Great Seal of the United States." The third uses mechanical illustrations to explain the context of the fundamental principles and terms used in each stage of development of the new republic and the powers at the different levels of government. The author uses the timeline found in the first constitution of the State of New York to explain the power the people had to control their government after joining the Republic. By establishing the requirement of consent from the People before any law was legal, the People of New York established a new form of government in their State. They could now control all law made by lawmakers and the size of the government in their State. This timeline also represents the mindset of the people in every state united as one people. Each person as a member of the new republic is equal in standing as a citizen. Each person, being a member of the republic and under the laws of liberty defining their freedom, can exercise both capacities at all times as a citizen regardless of his origin or the color of his skin.
During the War Between the States, the mountains of North Carolina were a hotbed of internecine strife where the phrase "brother against brother" truly applied. By late 1863, the Confederate government took measures to tighten control of the region, establishing the Western District of North Carolina under command of General Robert Vance, covering the area from the Blue Ridge Mountains westward to the borders of adjacent states. In less than four months, in the largest military operation conducted by the fledging department, General Vance was defeated and captured during an incursion into East Tennessee. Colonel John B. Palmer, Vance''s replacement, had barely taken command at Asheville before Confederate General James Longstreet pulled his army from East Tennessee, leaving the Western District exposed and threatened by the growing Union presence at Knoxville.Palmer travelled to Richmond to plead for more troops, especially an artillery battery, to counter recent Federal raids where he was outgunned by Yankees armed with cannons. The Confederate high command found the Macbeth Light Artillery at Charleston, ordering the unit to Asheville where they arrived late May 1864. Hardened veterans of Second Manassas and Antietam, the Macbeth would see a different face of war in the mountains, fighting a different kind of enemy, often not in any uniform, native Southerners disloyal to the Confederate cause, conscript evaders, deserters, disparagingly called "Tories" and "Homegrown Yankees."This book is a panorama of the mountain war in Western North Carolina and Upper East Tennessee, of raids, skirmishes, and battles where rebel commander John B. Palmer defended the Western District against the likes of the notorious Yankee Colonel, George W. Kirk, and his raiders. The Macbeth Light Artillery is covered in a first book length account within the context of a comprehensive study of military operations during 1864 and 1865 in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee.
Louis and Bernice are a rather eccentric family with a teen daughter, Cynthia, who is truly her mother and father's daughter. The family is pleasantly insane, as well as the visitors who come to their home where begins the nonsense of dead bodies appearing and disappearing. It is comedic black humor that is at once silly, absurdist humor.
See New York from the eyes of a Christian immigrant. Read through the tear-stained pages of my Bible journal-the longing for a new identity, longing for a true friend, musings for new career and goals. Like so many immigrants, I pondered but for a moment, if I should redefine my purpose to find lasting joy.
The Leadership Instinct: Leading Yourself Out of Social Mediocrity is the outcome of nearly two decades of leadership development efforts by its author. It is the direct result of extensive years of classroom, laboratory, and advanced research and development mentoring activities. This experience, through the development of budding leaders, has led to the creation of this insightful leadership development working text. Inspired by decades of leadership development opportunities across various types of professions, disciplines, and personalities, The Leadership Instinct offers a unique strategy to inspire and promote leadership development and personal goal-directed growth in any individual seeking to become the best self they intend to become. This working text is focused on the essence, function, and required elements of leadership development that spring from the very core of our genetic makeup. This is in contrast and often counter-indicated within the numerous educational programs devoted to the development of management skill sets. The largest fallacy perpetrated in many improvement programs is the assumption that leadership and management are interchangeable concepts, which they are not. Currently our society has an obvious shortage in these necessary "big picture" leadership capabilities. The evidence, for example, can be found in the decades-long shrinking of our nation's manufacturing capacities, a decrease in the taught fundamentals in the school system, and, more importantly, the slowing of the introduction of game-changing technologies and processes into our social fabric. With this leadership development program's focus on your specific needs and desires, this program should help to stimulate your focus and attention, thus helping you achieve your future The Intended You. From this vantage point, you will then become an obvious candidate for those organizations looking for leadership talent. More importantly, as a leader you may choose to look to a new direction in your life, one that you may not have even considered at this point. This working text was developed to fill some of the gaps in our current leadership development needs. It individualizes the leadership process and can make it effective in anyone's personal and professional development. The uniqueness in this leadership program is its ability to provide value to almost any age group and across all disciplines. It also doesn't require the processing and acquisition of large quantities of knowledge.
Why Do We Live or Die to the Lord As What the Apostle Paul Says? Let's find the answer from the scripture, "For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:20 NKJV). All of us on the earth should ask seriously: Do I live for God's will or do I live for my own will? There is a barometer to distinguish between God's will and my own will. We can find out from the teaching of the Lord Jesus: "You are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men" (Matthew 16:23 NKJV). This scripture is the barometer of two directions-the narrow road or the wide road in the teaching of Jesus (Matthew 7:13-14 NKJV). God, the Creator of all things, gives us the choice to choose the road of everlasting life in the kingdom of heaven or of everlasting condemnation in hell. The key to everlasting life in the kingdom of heaven is in the hands of Jesus Christ, by repentance of sins, believing in Him, obeying His word, making good fruits by the faith in Christ Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit until we meet Him in His glory. Amen.
Jesus is alive and walks and talks with us today. He continues to heal the sick, mend the brokenhearted, and set captives free. He is able to faithfully guide us, provide, protect, heal, and meet our every need. Salvation is only the beginning of an exciting journey He has for us when we follow Him. But will we go whenever, wherever, and do whatever He asks? With the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, economic downturns, and lawlessness in our streets; the Lord is shaking everything that can be shaken. As we walk and talk with Him, He helps us stand firm on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. There is no better way to live than to be led by the Holy Spirit and be in His will. At the end is a discussion guide to help you grow together in Christ with your family, friends, or small group.
This story came to me when I was going through a very difficult time in my life. It seemed like everything was falling apart and there was no way out. I felt God gave me the details for this short story. The reason I felt this way was because I picked up a tablet and pen and started writing. It flowed out faster than what I would write, ending up as Soil and the Gardener. Only by the grace of God did it fall into place. I hated going to counseling but knew it was important and something I needed to get well. I tried to stop going but I went back to each appointment. Thanks to my great counselors, God and the therapist. I am now able to face tomorrow. I am not saying I am okay. I read this little story often just to let myself know that it was a long hard road.
