As a young boy of ten, I had the privilege of watching our house being built in the then rural town of Cheshire, Connecticut. My parents bought 6 acres of land, which had an old rustic cabin sitting on a small knoll half way up a wooded hill. We got there in late spring and started building our new home around the cabin, which would ultimately become the living room in the middle of this 75' long, split level ranch. I remembered all the fun and learning experiences I had growing up there in my book, "The Cabin In The Woods." This book applies the construction process to building a strong and enduring spiritual house for believers. There are 3 overall areas of spiritual application, with short, topical teachings within each area. At the end of each topic is what I refer to as My Spiritual Tool Box, a strategic guide for spiritual construction. You'll also see the Today's Project and the My Blueprint categories, which probably need no explanation. But, the Keeping It Plumb topic is something you may not be familiar with. A "plumb bob" is a tool dating all the way back to ancient Egypt for measuring vertical alignment. It's nothing more than a hanging string with a pointed weight at the end. I remember my uncle using it when aligning the walls of the new house. In our Christian walk, we need discernment, and this tool presents some thoughts on adjusting our lives in such a way as to keep things straight and in line with God's Word. I hope this spiritual tool box will be of great help to you as you build your own spiritual home in accordance with the fundamentals of God's Will.

Eddie's Elementary Adventures is about a year in the life of a young boy named Eddie Castleton. Eddie seems to get himself into a lot of weird and unexpected situations in life. His way of handling all that is often funny, sometimes clever, but always endearing. He's just an adventurous little kid that takes on life with the Lord at his side. You'll enjoy his friendships with Toad and Danny and the crazy antics they get into. Along the way, he faces a bully at school, confronts death and loss, and solves a neighborhood mystery. You'll laugh as he learns how to deal with the girls in his life and tries to build up his "social standing." All of us will appreciate the challenges he faces and the spiritual lessons he learns each day. Much of it is based upon my early life experiences, though greatly embellished for your reading enjoyment. I hope you have as much fun listening to this precocious little guy's adventures as I did in writing them.

This book is about getting back to God. We often times believe that we are so close to Him and doing His will and realize in the long run that we were doing our own will. It is time to lay our will down and pick up the will of God and be about His business. Your desire should be to stay in His presence. Every answer is in His presence.
