Postures, Prayers, and Poems tell a story from the heart of yoga to the heart of the yogi, or anyone who accepts the invitation to read this book. Many books exist about yoga postures, alignment, and spirituality, but Lauricella uniquely shares and applies his experience of yoga, Native American spirituality, Eastern philosophy with the west's deep reverence for the natural world. Postures, Prayers, and Poems was written as a companion for yoga teachers, practitioners, and those who want to journey into the heart. The book asks that you too look deeply into your own being and hear the earth speak through these poems and acknowledge that you already are yoga; a perfect blend of ancient wisdom, intelligence, and intrinsic beauty. Postures, Prayers and Poems beckons us to take better care of ourselves, our children, and our planet.

After dwelling on the loss, Jeff overcame his fear and pride and finally reached out for help. In the process, he found a new perspective on life, death, and living on this side of eternity. A rare bone cancer robbed Jarrett Mynear of a normal childhood when he was two years old, but it didn't steal his spirit. This extraordinary boy captivated crowds with his courage, faith, and humor in the face of adversity. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, Jarrett got busy. By delivering thousands of toys to sick children, the pint-sized Santa Claus traveled a path that led to national television appearances, prestigious awards, and a chance meeting with the President of the United States. This is the true story of a little boy's legacy and how, nearly two decades after his death, he continues to inspire small acts of kindness and huge acts of philanthropy.
Love, Laura is a book of life, of change, filled with love and the stubborn devotion of two headstrong individuals to one another. It touches on the sorrows of life such as loss and grief, and it encourages the acceptances of those seen as different. It gives a sense of reality without flinching, of love, even when things go wrong, and how faith as small as a mustard seed can see you through whatever life might throw at you. For fans of historical fiction, this book starts just at the end of World War two, and ends just in the sixties. It is a look at simpler times, when two people didn't need much, just each other to be happy and a look at how two people become one in a marriage. If you want to read about life, love, and all the struggles that make it beautiful, then this is the book for you!
Dan Stein grew up in the 60's and became a federal prosecutor stationed in Miami Florida. The story alternates between Dan's coming of age experiences and his experiences battling organized crime during the era when the Colombians challenged traditional organized crime families for supremacy. Dan's experiences as a teenager and during his college years foretold his later approach to destroying the mob. Despite religious parents who were the epitome of ethical behavior, Dan developed flexible ethics and morals, enabling him to conveniently manipulate others to achieve his ends. His experiences with women were primarily superficial and sexual except for those few women he wanted but could never have. He also established a curious relationship with a fellow football player, who was prone to violence and excess. Dan craftily cleaned up his messes and, at the same time, achieved a masterful domination of this human weapon. Little did Dan know that this relationship would come back to haunt him as an adult.Dan screwed up his college aspirations by his meaningless high school escapades, but was granted a second chance by a bizarre circumstance. His college roommate was a mysterious son of a mafia chieftain, who Dan tutored in exchange for room and board. An incredible turn of events changed Dan's life and set him on a course to destroy the mob.During the same era when Dan became a prosecutor, Colombian narcotics suppliers challenged traditional organized crime for control over the narcotics trade by demonstrating unprecedented cruelty and depravity. During this duel between the Colombians and the Italian mob, a power struggle in traditional organized crime emerged, which involved Dan's old college roommate's father. Dan and his roommate became pawns in that struggle which led to devastating consequences. When Dan began pursuing organized criminals, he used every opportunity to manipulate the system to achieve his ends. He finally found the vehicle for his ambitions, through a very carefully prepared infiltrator. Dan then became obsessed with working his way up to exact revenge on the mob's new capo d' capo. Blinded by his ultimate goals, Dan was severely compromised by his childhood friend. The book ends with an undisclosed perpetrator, frustrating Dan's plans and resulting in an ending as ambiguous as Dan's morals.
I feel that my novel provides a unique plot that crosses the common lines of science and religion. I wanted to make the reader stop and think about the possibilities of our world and the nature of mankind. I knew that I had to have an especially unique idea because science fiction is such a flooded field. Alex Shepherd is a promising young marine with a dream of excelling in his career and marrying the love of his life, Kate. All hope for this ideal life is lost when the earth is invaded by a hostile alien force that mysteriously has the same name as the biblical, highest order of angels: the Seraphim.Coming in at just over 60,000 words, The Harvest War is an action-packed, science fiction thriller with religious themes. The novel takes the reader on a sprawling journey through an apocalyptic America, with fascinating discoveries about the evolution of humankind.
Set primarily in Pass-a-Grille, a small community at the southern-most tip of the barrier islands separating Pinellas County, Florida, from the Gulf of Mexico, 'None So High' follows a group of young men and women who came of age in mid-1960's and early 70's, those heady times when the physical and social environment of the island's laid-back and free-thinking lifestyle encouraged them to establish careers in what came to be known as 'The Trade' - trafficking marijuana. Their lives were an ongoing adventure, risking their liberty - and their lives - taking them to often remote and occasionally exotic places to meet interesting if often dangerous people, and making (or sometimes losing) small fortunes in the process. "None So High" focuses on three of them - brothers - who together with their Father formed a small 'enterprise' which grew through successes and set-backs, confronting rival traffickers, corrupt cops, treacherous suppliers - and coping with the major changes in their values. The incidents related in the novel actually took place, although I took some liberties with their presentation. The locations are real. The characters portrayed are also real - I grew up with them, worked with them, and knew them well. The names have been altered, for obvious reasons.
In ""The Leader's 2nd Training,"" Mindell introduces tested 2nd Training Inner Work, Bodywork, Relationship, and Large Group methods for personal, group, and world conflicts. Two key ideas are that everyone is needed as a 2nd Training leader to facilitate conflicts worldwide, and that 2nd Trainings are based on a Big TOE (Big Theory Of Everything).1st Trainings in Leadership should include, at the minimum, diversity awareness, group process skills, business leadership concepts, and conflict methods. Such cognitive trainings, while very much needed, are not enough to help our planet's worst social and environmental problems. Therefore, this book introduces 2nd Training methods to enable all 1st Trainings to work better. 2nd Trainings help people to become effective leaders by increasing their awareness and ability to FLOW-and be creative and powerful during conflict! 2nd Trainings reduce tension, and thus create solutions and friendships. Thanks to physicist Stephen Hawking and others, the TOE intends to unify the immense spaces of Relativity and tiny spaces of the Quantum world. Mindell now suggests a Big TOE, which includes not only Physics, but also Psychology, Spiritual experience, and Social awareness. Mindell's 2nd Training methods have been widely tested around the world, with thousands of people and dozens of organizations, including the U.N. and government leaders.

Based on the popular workshop of the same name, Audition Psych 101 takes a detailed, unvarnished look at the mental gremlins that can make auditioning stressful. With frankness, humor, and a pro-actor sensibility, professional working actor Michael Kostroff (The Wire, The Deuce, Luke Cage, The Blacklist, Law & Order: SVU, etc.) explodes commonly accepted mythologies and offers a fresh, more logical, and more effective approach to the whole process. Speaking directly to other professional actors, Kostroff pulls each step into slow motion, shining a light into the dark corners in search of those little snags that can screw us up."It has completely changed the way I view auditions." - Chad Manuel, Chicago"Want to learn why we constantly get in our own way before we even set foot in the room? Michael has made a detailed, brilliant study of the most common traps, and how to avoid them." - Peter Van Norden, Los Angeles"Michael's expertise, sense of humor, and just old-fashioned good sense does the impossible: It actually makes the actor comfortable with the audition process." - J. R. Orlando, San Jose"I'm a psychotherapist who specializes in working with creative artists. Among many other issues, we always talk about their audition anxiety. In Audition Psych 101, Michael Kostroff has validated everything I believe about the audition process. Let him save you a lot of disappointment and frustration." - Lee D. Kassan, psychotherapist/psychoanalyst"It brought the joy and fun back into the audition process, which ultimately has allowed for more callbacks and many more bookings." - Mick Guire, New York City"I can't wait for my next audition. (Holy mackerel, did I just write that?)" - Deborah Linehan, New York City
This book is an extension of the author`s therapeutic work with the concept of the dreambody. Just as the unconscious, or `dreambody,' signals its problems (and solutions) in dreams and in the body, so the collective unconscious of the planet does the same. Attention to these signals can pave the way for global therapy - literally making the planet and its people whole and healthy.
From working in a toothbrush factory and learning to always sterilize your brush to being a "stand-in" for Ms. Lara Flynn Boyle of Men in Black fame and figuring out very quickly that sitting around for 16 hours is way too boring even with craft services and a few famous people, the lessons we learn in life are somewhat universal. This mishmash collection of writing includes memoir-style stories, poems, songs and short scenes and plays. Jeanne's first book, "Tell Our Story, I Will" chronicled she and her son's challenges and triumphs navigating his diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome/high-functioning autism (available on Amazon) while this collection is a hodge-podge of her everyday life.
