This is the story of an adventurous boy called Fussbum, his dog Puddles and his cat Scratch who go on a day's fishing on the local river. However, he soon realizes that the river is so full of rubbish that few fish can swim in it. Rather than call on somebody else to clean it up he sets about to get friends and neighbours to start a campaign that eventually has the rubbish cleaned from the river. The story has a strong do-it-yourself conservation message with plenty of fun and laughs and with superb illustrations that make the characters jump off the pages.
