Traipsing along the river bottoms of the Current River over and around the log drifts to follow the herd (about twelve) Missouri wild horses (especially the Little Shawnee Creek and the Rocky Creek herds) with most of my time about evenly spent in Carter County with the Rocky Creek herd (the most spirited herd of the four herds). After many months, over two years, I was able to become more adept at their movements; but still the herds at times were skittish. Most of my photos of the Rocky Creek herd were taken within Carter County near Stegall Mountain, and its indigenous glades ablaze with many varieties of wild flowers, where the Collard lizards, Black bears, Eagles, Hawks, Bobcats, Deer, Elk, Mountain Lions, Wild Pigs, Snakes, and numerous small animals and birds roam near Shannon County's Klepzig Mill where years ago was powered by Rocky Creek on its way to the Current River where the wild horses occasionally drink.

Eruch Jessawalla, one of Baba's intimate mandali, would tell Harry stories about Baba in the early days and they would discuss various spiritual topics that Harry would record on his tape recorder. During Harry's lifetime he would use the material from these conversations to give his public talks on Meher Baba. Meher Baba encouraged Harry to begin speaking about Him to the Baba group in New York City, called the Monday Night Group and later at the Society for Avatar Meher Baba's office on Saturday nights. Then in 1967, Baba gave Harry an order to give two public programs to celebrate Baba's birthday and silence day each year. At these events Harry would give a talk. Eruch actually requested Harry in 1970, in Meherazad, to publish his experiences, because Eruch felt Harry had a deep understanding of Baba's life and work because of his intimacy with the God-Man, both as His doctor and mandali. Meher Baba on different occasions called Harry Kenmore one of His most intimate mandali, His apostle, His dear son and a chip off the Ole Block. The themes and concepts in each talk were all developed through Harry's understanding and elaboration that reflected the conversations he had with Baba and the mandali, his intense study of Baba's principles and precepts in the books he read, spiritual themes discussed by Baba and stories told in mandali hall.

The training to become a psychiatrist is challenging and at times bewildering. Once trained, the practicing psychiatrist will continue to encounter people and situations for which he or she is not fully prepared. Some of these experiences are ultimately rewarding and show doctors and patients at their very best; others can overwhelm, lead to anger, or break your heart. All can be stories worth telling.Looking back on forty years of work, the author selects most of his "tales" to illustrate his own naivete and sometimes the shortcomings of his peers and teachers. Overall, this is a hopeful and respectfully entertaining book about those who suffer and those who try to help.

Gunter Wayan is again in over his head, accepting an assignment from the Indonesian Minister of Defense that sends him, Eka, and Persik to Russia to rescue a defecting scientist and his wife from the FSB. Before they leave, the Minister makes clear that if they're captured, the government will deny any involvement and say they acted alone rather than create a diplomatic incident. The defector, a Ukrainian scientist on the brink of achieving the holy grail of camouflage technology, which is making a moving object invisible, was kidnapped from his lab near Odesa and brought to a facility in downtown Moscow. To motivate the scientist to complete his work, his wife is taken to Oymyakon, the coldest inhabited settlement on earth, and placed under FSB guard. If he's unsuccessful in delivering the technology, she'll live the remainder of her life there without him. With the Indonesian embassy across the street from his lab, he finds a way to communicate with an official, offering his technology in exchange for getting him and his wife out of the country. To accomplish this nearly impossible task, they decide to first rescue the wife from the Siberian settlement, which has no airport and is a fourteen-hour drive over snow-covered roads from the nearest town, then evade capture on their thirty-three hundred mile trek across the Russian Federation to retrieve the scientist. As if things couldn't get more complicated, soon after entering the country, they learn that the Minister's plan for getting the couple out of Russia has fallen through and that once they rescue the couple, it's up to them to find a way to get them out of a country which has the tightest border security in the world.

This book was created as a result of much frustration, while attempting to read and understand navigation HOW-TO books. While attempting to decipher the material, I would become lost, unable to comprehend what the author was describing and how I got there. Eventually I was able to create drawings which brought all the confusing details into focus. The result, everything finally made sense. You could think of this as a primer, once you have grasped my simplifications, you are equipped to comprehend the more detailed writings of the expertsWhile working through the details it became clear that NAVIGATION HISTORY would not only be interesting and helpful, but would also tie everything together. I have been obsessed with the early Portuguese navigators and how their pilots managed obtain positions, ever since I sat alone in the cockpit, out on the high seas. Inside this manuscript are revealed the secret methods, "STATE SECRETS", that they used to locate themselves, far beyond any reference from land.As an additional topic of interest, I have provided the reader with detailed instructions, that describe how to create a sundial, which mounts on a birdbath. This amazing device is not only able to keep accurate time, but also allows the builder to track and record the annual figure 8 ANALEEMA.

Yes, even in Southern California, weather is something we experience every day. It is in our conscious or subconscious whenever we wake up, look out a window, venture outside, see or feel the sunshine, hear the swish of wind in the trees or the white noise of rain on the roof. We make decisions, sometimes several times a day, based on a brief thought of weather. We make plans based on the near-term forecast, or long-term climate. Occasionally, we take prompt action to stay safe from it. For something so integral to our lives, how much of it do we understand? Greater understanding of the real, practical meaning of the forecast can inform decisions and plans, affording greater confidence and less frustration. You will gain a greater awareness of how the weather you experience works. You'll understand where forecasts come from, how they're made, and what it means to you.

The primary purposes of this book are to highlight the importance of Colloquial Russian in the classroom and to identify the differences between standard textbook presentations and the actual conversational Russian of educated native speakers. This is the first book in English to present Colloquial Russian as a coherent linguistic system. Chapters show linguistic evidence of its systemic patterns. Based primarily on tape-recorded examples by Soviet/Russian scholars from Moscow and Leningrad, the book presents an outline of the more salient linguistic features of colloquial phonetics, morphology, syntax, word order and vocabulary. The last chapter presents some recommendations on how various elements of colloquial Russian may be introduced into the classroom.
