The extraordinary story of Halford House is a testimony to the absolute faithfulness of the Lord. In his own words Lance recollects how God used it as a sign of a deep burden on His heart – the building of His House, His Dwelling or Resting Place.
In this study of the first five books of the Bible, Lance digs into the purpose of each book and doesn''t shy away from discussing the difficulties that are hard to reconcile. As always, Lance shows how looking further into the Word of God unfolds valuable riches that point to what the Lord has done for us today, through what He did for us from the beginning of time. "Whilst it may be interesting and instructive to talk about the Bible ... we have only one end in view, and that is to study the Word itself." (page 9)
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. Exodus 3:2-4God chose the most common thorn bush in the desert in which to meet with Moses and this is just one step in the life of lessons in which God trained Moses. Within these pages, Lance searches out these lessons.
Ephesians 2 says that we in the household of God are to be built up together for a habitation for God in the Spirit. What does this mean for you and I to be built up together with other believers? How should we contribute to the building work of Christ? All this is related to what God has desired from before times eternal. In other words, what God has always desired is a dwelling place in which He can express Himself, reveal Himself and manifest Himself, as it were, a place in which He can find His home.Thank the Lord this is His heart's desire-to be with us and let us know Him. How blessed we are. May the Lord find His home in our midst.
The Lord does have a purpose for His people. It is a beautiful, full, and perfect purpose. Yet how do we reach it?Dear child of God, there is nothing in this world like following the Lord Jesus, but you cannot follow Him if He is not Lord. You cannot follow Him if you do not give up all right to yourself.May the Lord touch our hearts. As you search out the Lord's heart in these pages, may He give vision of His heart, revealing the way He went for us, and revealing the way we shall go for Him that we may press on, for He is coming soon!Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5
Preparation is something we should not take lightly, but with great seriousness. We do not know when our Lord Jesus will return, but we are told of the signs of His second coming. We pray, “Lord Jesus, come quickly,” but in that prayer we know that we must be ready, be prepared for His return. As we see the end approaching, when our Lord and Savior will return and establish His kingdom on this earth, we must be prepared. We must be ready and watching for Him. May the Lord use the practical help presented in these messages to prepare His people.
Have you ever thought of what happened in the four hundred years between Malachi in the Old Testament and Matthew in the New Testament? It seems as if God was silent during those years until John the Baptist was raised up announcing the arrival of the Messiah’s first coming. But even though God did not speak with Scriptures during those years there He was working and preparing the way for the arrival of Immanuel.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8When the word of God is devalued, when the word of God is made to be insignificant, when the word of God just becomes dry and dusty ancient literature, nothing happens. But whenever the word of God is recognized for what it is, then it becomes what it is—alive and active. Men and women are born through the word of God. They are changed and brought into a living relationship with God.
Brethren, I count not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:7–14In looking at the Christian walk as a race, we can often see obstacles that could prevent us from finishing well. How can we press on after Christ? There is a way. The obstacles of self, and sin, and the world do not have to prevent us from going on after Christ.
They that wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40: 29-31 We are aware that we are moving very swiftly and strongly into a period of shaking such as we have never known before—a period of turmoil, conflict and darkness. If that is the case, are we going to be strong enough, not merely to be survivors, but to be overcomers?
God will shake everything to pieces in order to fulfill His heart’s desire—but He willfulfill it. With His desire in view, what is our responsibility in these last days?"Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." Ephesians 5:15–17
This gospel of the kingdom of God; this gospel concerning God's King; this gospel concerning the abounding grace of God by which He gives us the possibility of coming to the throne of God ... this gospel has been entrusted to those who are followers of the Lord Jesus to be preached in the whole world. This is our great call, our great commission: "Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations ..." (Matthew 28:19). We just can't go out of duty. It is the love of God that has to be shed abroad in our hearts that will bring us to a place where, perhaps, we shall come into this preaching of the gospel of the kingdom in the whole world for a testimony. From every tribe, from every tongue, from every kindred, from every nation treasure for the city of God. May the Lord use the words enclosed to stir hearts in this way.
We have a tremendous heritage of movements of God. While the movements have died, crystalized and become institutionalized, the actual recovery is still with us. Thank God it is the Lord Jesus who said "I will build My church," and what He is recovering, He is recovering. It is never lost again. In What is God Doing? Lance covers many different movements of God. What happened in these moves? What is God doing now? May His Church be encouraged by what He has done, is doing, and will do in the time to come.
What is the way the Holy Spirit will touch the Lord's people? How will we see the house of God built up and completed? How will we see the bride making herself ready for the Bridegroom? How will we come to the throne of God? By the grace of God we should overcome and it will be by the love of God!Lance searches out the divine love of our Lord within these pages in a rich and refreshing word straight from our Beloved.
But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:1-2 Although it is true that the Lord is ours, it is vital that we know in our hearts that we are the Lord's-to know that He says, "THOU ART MINE." Our security is in the Lord Jesus.
The Lord does not always do everything we want, but He actually can do anything. It is so wonderful just to contemplate for a few moments on His infinite power. Who else is infinite in power? Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Is there anything the Lord cannot do? Is there any problem the Lord cannot solve? Is there any knot he cannot untie? Is there any obstacle he cannot overcome? Is there any contradiction he cannot remove? His power is infinite. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Matthew 6:13b
Lance Lambert looks at the lives of four men found in the Old Testament: Samuel, Saul, David, and Solomon. But, this is not just a study of these men, it is a study of spiritual character-character that is essential for establishing the kingdom of God; qualities that the Lord looks for in us in the building of the house of the Lord, in fulfilling the purpose of God, and in accomplishing His recovery work.Do we long to see the kingdom of God? Do we want to be involved in the coming of the kingdom of God and in establishing His kingdom? If so, then we must possess spiritual character.
Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the hosts of wicked spirits in the heavenlies. Ephesians 6:10-20There is no matter more vital or strategic than this. As we move increasingly into the End Times, the church of God redeemed, born of God and energised by the Spirit of God, needs to know how to enforce the will of God in whatever situations it may face, international, national or local.
As the return of the Lord draws near there has never been a time when effective prayer is more strategic, necessary, and essential than now. Will we be a people who will truly watch and pray? Will anyone respond to His call and challenge?Corporate intercession is almost a lost art-and that when we most need it!I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none (Ezekiel 22:30).This is the call and challenge of the Lord.
Covering is perhaps one of the most vitally important subjects that God's people could study. Lance shows that this is one of the strong emphases of the Bible from its beginning to its end. For those who abide in God, who dwell in the secret place, the covered place, the Almighty is their protection, their security, and their safety. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1) As the days grow more and more evil and the world tries to devour the Lord's people, it is vital that we come under and stay under the covering of our God, that we boldly enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus.
Through this book Lance Lambert clearly reminds us that the calling of God for man is that we should have dominion over all things that He has created. This is our divine vocation as man. We are not to be defeated but to overcome, not to be subdued but to subdue. Using examples from the Old and New Testaments, he shows that this is man's eternal vocation. We are called to reign with Christ. "And now I vest in you the kingship which my Father vested in me." (see Luke 22:29-30 NEB)God's purpose from the very beginning was that in union with Himself, man should come to the place of ruling and reigning, where he could administer the government of God. The original purpose for man was thwarted by sin, but thank God this matter of dominion over all things has been secured in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Meditations on Psalm 110: A Psalm of David.Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Jehovah will send forth the rod of thy strength out of Zion: Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people offer themselves willingly In the day of thy power, in holy array: Out of the womb of the morning Thou hast the dew of thy youth. Jehovah hath sworn, and will not repent: Thou art a priest for ever After the order of Melchizedek. The Lord at thy right hand Will strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He will judge among the nations, He will fill the places with dead bodies; He will strike through the head in many countries. He will drink of the brook in the way: Therefore will he lift up the head.
With startling effect, Lance Lambert reveals the symmetrical design evident throughout the Bible, including the fascinating relationship between Genesis and Revelation. The author uncovers a dimension of the Bible that most believers will surely find a new revelation. The author writes,"There is no truth that is of greater importance than this matter of God's eternal purpose. Once you begin to understand God's ultimate aim in time, and for the ages to come, life becomes more meaningful and significant. Why did God create this universe and this earth, which at our present extent of knowledge is unique? What was His aim and goal in its creation? Why did He create mankind? And when man fell short of His glory through sin, why did He persevere and provide salvation? Is that salvation an end in itself, or is it a means to an end, with everything provided within it to reach the final goal? And how can I be involved in the fulfillment of that purpose?" Answering these very questions, this passionate book will point you to a fresh and exciting understanding of what it truly means to be a Christian. It helps answer the ultimate question: What is the meaning of life?
In the prophecy of Jeremiah it says this: "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they have called thee an outcast, saying, It is Zion, for whom no one cares" (30:17). That is exactly true of the history of the Jewish people. They were a people for whom no one cared. For 1,800 years the Jews were outcasts, and everyone looked down upon them and treated them as such. However the Lord Himself said: "I have seen this; I Myself will restore health unto thee. I Myself will heal thee of thy wounds because they have said, it is Zion which is an outcast for whom no one cares."God is working a work in such a way that this nation of Israel becomes a testimony to the absolute authority and relevance of His Word. That is true of its recreation, its regathering, its rebuilding, and the restoration of its fertility and ecology. However it is in the immediate years that lie ahead that its greatest witness to the faithfulness of God will be revealedto the nations."When you see these things begin to come to pass, know ye that He is nigh, even at the door" (see Matthew 24:33).
There is no more vital, strategic, necessary matter than living faith. We are living in the days of artificiality and superficiality, of a very shallow kind of Christianity. It is a Christianity that is more on the surface -- skin deep. We do not find, today, the depth of character, of sacrifice, of endurance that once characterized the church of God. This is very largely because we are not the possessors of a living, working faith. We need a living, working faith that links us to the Person of the Lord and brings us into all the reality of what He has so dearly won for us at Calvary. The greatest need amongst us who love the Lord and are true believers is a genuine, living working faith; there is no other faith. Real faith is always alive; real faith is always working. There is no other faith. The faith that is in our head is nothing but human intelligence masquerading as Christianity. Real faith unites us to God. Real faith brings us into the will of God. Real faith brings us to the fruit of the Spirit. Real faith brings us into the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Real faith means that you and I are walking with the Lord in a contemporary manner.
"If Any Man Would Follow Me…""If any man come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me." These words, spoken by the Lord Jesus without any preamble are the very heart of discipleship. Here we have the heart of what it is to be a child of God. This is not just something to do with deeper life, this lies at the center of the gospel.
In “Be Ye Ready”, you will find Lance shares his burden on being prepared for the return of the Lord. May we be His bride ready for the wedding feast to come.In I Chronicles 12:32 the Bible says of the sons of Issachar that they were “… men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.” May the Lord have a people today who understand the days in which we are living and are being prepared to meet the Bridegroom—the Lord Jesus.
Israel-not just for the tourist. It is a geographical knot in a tug of war between the super powers. This book takes you into the political as well as the spiritual conflict. Written by a man with inside information, he presents a perspective not to be found anywhere else.Lance Lambert, long time friend of prominent leaders and an authority on the Bible history of the Israeli nation, is the author.
