This study examined the effects of climate change and its adaptation strategies on the inhabitants of the Niger delta region. The study utilised survey and ex-post facto designs in this study. Primary and secondary data were collected for the data analyses. The primary data were generated using questionnaire, while the secondary data were accessed from archival records of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) for the period 1925-2018 and Climate Research Unit (CRU) of University of East Anglia. The data were analyzed using one-way analysis ofvariance (ANOVA), multiple linear regressions (MLR), and the Welch and the Brown-Forsythe tests. The study revealed that the adaptation strategies applied at various localities in the region included improved seedling, climate insurance, restriction of settlements, improved forecast and information. The study recommended, intensifying the campaign on climate change and the consequences therefrom, intensifying the fight against air pollution, Community based approach to climate change management, such as public lectures, fines for defaulters and giving of climate change agricultural grants.

This book is an evaluation of three programming tools--Logo, Scratch and ToonTalk--designed for children's use. The book argued for the re-introduction of programming in primary schools, reviewed the ICT National Curriculum for England and Wales, and then conclude that there is the need for the learning of core programming skills and techniques in primary curriculum to start raising software creators and not consumers. In the book a 'time-length' period for the learning and mastery of programming language is projected. And also a framework for the planning and design of programming tools by developers and learning content by teachers is given. This book will be useful to educational policy and curriculum planners, school heads, teachers, software developers, and parents.

Thin-film silicon solar cell is a promising technology for solar energy due to their low-cost large-scale manufacturability, but one of the major challenges is to absorb light at infrared wavelengths where the absorption length is much larger than the active layer thickness. This book overviews the state-of-the-art light trapping technology for efficiency improvement in thin-film Si solar cells. we propose an all-dielectric, textured photonic crystal (TPC) as an effective light trapping scheme, which integrates dielectric gratings and a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) in the backside of thin film silicon. We understand the operation principles for this design by using photonic band theories and electromagnetic wave simulations. We also developed a self-assembled method to fabricate the proposed photonic structures. Finally, we explored the fundamental performance limits for thin-lm Si solar cells.
