John Joyce, a multi-hyphenate artist whose work transcends genres and shatters forms, brings us the tale of The Last Gyppo King. With an innovative hybrid text-part novel, part lyric poem, part stage play-the words literally unfold, cascading down the pages, spiraling like DNA: 1989. Johnny Boy was an upper middle class Boston Irish kid. Then one day-out of nowhere-the FBI came and took his whole world away. Johnny's Irish immigrant father was a drug dealer. Johnny's Irish immigrant father was also a Traveller. A chancer.A scammer.>Before Johnny knew what hit him, he was hiding out with his mother in an Irish Traveller camp.>But... Johnny Boy fell in love with a beautiful Traveller girl. Joe didn't like that. He didn't like it one bit. He decided he'd be keeping Loa for himself. Which lit the fuse ... The Last Gyppo King is a tale of love, lust, loss, of stolen youth and revenge, set in the raw, almost primal world of hard-nosed, bare-knuckle-fighting Irish Travellers. A world with its own code.A world with its own justice.
"From Fear of Failure to Flying High" is for those people who still haven't achieved what they would like to in life.If you have read all the right books, listened to the personal growth podcasts and YouTube videos and attended all the self- development courses but are frustrated by your lack of progress then this book is for you.If your progress towards your goals is slow and you're frustrated by your efforts seemingly being for nothing, then read how the journey of Geoff Sober started in the same way.The first part of the book is autobiographical tracing how Geoff came from anything but an entrepreneurial family background. In fact, most of Geoff's early life indicated that risk was to be avoided, it was dangerous to step out into the limelight and that it was best to choose safety over adventure.Geoff saw himself as ordinary with no discernible gifts or talents whereas others were winners who had skills they could exchange for wealth and riches.Geoff's early life saw the world divided into winners and losers and he was very much in the "losers" camp. This book follows Geoff's metamorphosis from failure to success, unhappiness and frustration to happiness and fulfilment. But first Geoff had to identify and address the elephant in the room. What was the root cause of his inability to turn all his acquired knowledge of personal growth into real tangible success?Fear of failure was the thorn in the flesh.Once he became aware of this block to success, he worked to remove it from his life and after achieving successful businesses and a life which fulfilled him in every way then he was on a mission to help others do the same.In the second part of this book you will learn how Geoff turned his life from ordinary to extraordinary. You will learn some of the blocks you need to remove in order to live your own Hero's Journey. There are stories about the people Geoff has helped using the methods he learned.

We have experienced dark and difficult times before in our history-World Wars, the Depression, and pandemics, but the physical, political and economic health of nations is now overlaid with the potentially catastrophic effects of climate change. We live in a world fraught with ecological and social problems and political systems that diminish democracy. We have organizations that demean and dehumanize many of their employees, and an economic perspective that places material wealth and financial interests over social, ecological, and human interests. Such a system devalues what it means to be human, compromising the inherent dignity and worth of people who are not at the top, not to mention devaluing the worth of non-human living beings, including the Earth itself. Our world cries out for moral, ethical and wise leadership that recognizes and honors the dignity of all living beings, and makes decisions in the interest of society and the planet for now and the future. Looking at the state of the world today, one cannot help but wonder what we need to do to ensure a positive and peaceful future for humanity. How is it possible that knowledge and information have become so much more accessible to people, but we do not seem to have become anywiser? We continue to destroy our natural habitat despite ominous warnings of the planet becoming uninhabitable. We continue to be led by dictators and autocrats despite the many lessons from history of the incredible damage they can cause. We continue to allow without correction racial and ethnic injustice and increasing economic and income inequality. We continue to allow the amoral, unethical behaviors of our leaders (and their followers) with no, or few consequences. Even worse, we continue to recruit and promote into leadership positions narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths. Unrestrained and unchecked, the result is the degradation of moral standards, ethical behavior and the decline of democracy. This book examines the connection between moral and ethical leaders and wisdom. Our current turbulent and dangerous times underscores the need to have wise leaders who demonstrate the highest standards of moral principles and ethical behavior. While all countries are in need of wise, moral and ethical leaders, nowhere does it have greater impact on the world than in the United States. This book is organized into three major sections. The first section looks at the ongoing problem of amoral, ethical and unethical leadership with case studies and examples and multiple perspectives. The second section examines what we mean ethical and wise leader behavior. The final section examines ethical and wise leadership, with suggestions on actions we can take at the organizational and individual level in dealing with amoral, immoral and unethical leaders, and how to develop further a culture of integrity, ethics and morality.

Discover God's original intent for our food and its healing power for our bodies. From the very beginning, God had a plan for the flourishing of our whole self. When was the last time you or someone you love prayed for healing? In a world with skyrocketing rates of chronic disease, autoimmune conditions, and mental health disorders, it was likely not long ago. If you haven't experienced the healing you prayed for, it's easy to feel discouraged and alone. But what if God has already answered that prayer? What if His answer is far better than you could've imagined? What if God has already given us everything we need to flourish physically, mentally, and spiritually? What if you are actually designed to heal? In Designed to Heal, author Alex Morgan describes his wife's battle against Ulcerative Colitis, where she found victory, and how that affected their faith. Alex breaks down how God designed our bodies to heal themselves and our food to fuel that healing. He continues by diving into the personal and societal patterns of life that have led us deeper into disease. Finally, he gives practical insights into living out God's original healing design for our bodies. Our physical and spiritual selves are more interconnected than we think. In Designed to Heal, Alex shares his family's personal experience discovering that truth. If you're in need of healing or simply want to help your body flourish, this book will provide the insight you need to begin or continue that journey. In the process, your faith will be encouraged as you realize that God didn't leave you or ignore you but, on the contrary, He designed you to heal. The Golden Range, by Ira A Cole, is a collection of stories about the wild and challenging life of settling western Kansas in the late 1800s. The setting is Ness County, Kansas, near the town of Bazine starting in 1878. Each chapter is a unique story, somewhat independent of the rest, that gives a unique perspective to the life these early pioneers faced.
Each Christian tradition has a strong tendency to believe that their perspective on what it means to "follow Jesus" should be normative for all Christians. Contrary to this conceit, this book argues that a full-orbed understanding of what it means to follow Jesus must incorporate the best insights of each tradition. This book will provide the contours of that richer more comprehensive understanding. It will provide a rich resource for seminaries and churches within each of 12 Christian traditions to "continue" the initial conversations reported on by means of twelve sets of "Questions for Future Conversations." "Mutual understanding, mutual respect, mutual edification, and mutual education are only some of the results from this "respectful conversation" hosted by Harold Heie among representatives of twelve different Christian traditions. Yet the book also displays a welcome frankness at the various times when its attentive, well-meaning, and patient contributors simply agree to disagree. Above all, the method of 'deep listening' that Heie has promoted in several such conversations, often on topics that usually produce much more heat than light, should be an encouragement for all to go and do likewise. When attention replaces shouting, and charity overcomes suspicion, the Kingdom of God really is a little more evident." -Mark Noll "This volume offers many valuable examples of how Christians of differing traditions and viewpoints can broaden their outlooks by listening sympathetically to each other. While taking into account that disagreements will remain, it is a most helpful reminder that, before we criticize, we should attempt to learn from others and appreciate their strengths." -George Marsden "As I have observed Harold's devotion to promoting the cultivation of listening skills over the years of our friendship, it is clear to me that empathy is at the heart of what he is about. Empathy is my experiencing the feelings and concerns of others as if they were my own."-Richard Mouw

"Love You," is the story of a missing teenage girl, Allie, whose family's tragedy sent her into a windfall of pain to find herself again. The betrayal of her father, the heart of her life, devastated Allie. The book addresses mental health problems, addiction to drugs/alcohol, family relationships, a peculiar bus encounter, nursery school events, and therapy sessions. Much of the book focuses on a disassociated relationship between Allie and her younger sister, who was four when a tragedy took place. The author discusses the mental health benefits of animals and emphasizes the importance of society in community health, but does not cover much about remedies and support. In the meantime, Allie meanders between the real world of family, friends, and the comfort world in which she satiates her losses.
