The ship was also blessed with the birth of a baby boy, born at sea 200 miles from Fiji and named after our youngest 17-year-old crew member.I enjoyed travelling to some really remote areas that are still off the tourist track, even today. Although the labor of the Chinese workers who built the first transcontinental railroad (and other railroads in the western part of the country) was pivotal to the development of the United States, these workers have never received the scholarly attention they deserve.
