DAMAGED is a volume of short stories, vignettes and a novella. Some selections are war stories while others are postwar tales which illustrate the lasting effects suffered by men and women who participate in war and in violent law enforcement encounters. T There are tragic love stories, stories of revenge and closure. Some of the stories serve as a companion compilation to Hess's first two novels Ambush and Gamble in which several familiar characters show us not only the effects they suffered but also the backstories to events in his previous novels. DAMAGED gives everyone an insight of PTSD and how it creeps into the mind and soul of those involved in war and law enforcement. Damaged is a powerful collection not of war stories but of postwar stories which vividly present the lasting trauma of battles from Gettysburg to Kabul. Hess makes it clear that there is "nothing romantic" about it, and its scars are real and permanent. Ellen Miller Casey, Professor Emerita, University of Scranton

The school had produced some of the most powerful and successful wizards in all of the kingdom. The students of Elvendor were well-respected and admired by all. However, a rival school, known for its magic and sorcery, had emerged from the shadows. This new school, called the Shadow School of Magic, challenged the mastery of magic of Elvendor's students. They claimed that they had surpassed Elvendor in every aspect of magic, and that they were the most powerful school in the land. The headmistress of Elvendor, a wise and experienced elf named Alvireth, knew that they could not let this challenge go unanswered. If they were defeated, Elvendor would lose its prestige and be forced to shut down. So, she called upon her professors and a group of students to take up the challenge and prove that Elvendor was still the best school in Elvendom.Their training was intense and dangerous. They learned to control and harness the power of magic, and to use it to their advantage. They practiced day and night, perfecting their spells and learning new ones. Despite the hardships they faced the students never gave up. They were determined to prove that Elvendor was still the best school in Elvendom. Finally, the day of the competition arrived. Elvendor and The Shadow School of Magic, competition was intense, with both schools showing off their mastery of magic. The Shadow Academy's students were powerful, but Elvendor's students were able to hold their own winning the competition.

The Divine Human is the human nature made divine. It is the destiny of all of humanity. The human nature, when made divine by regeneration is the corporeal sensual aspect of the self raised to the spiritual perspective of the higher-self. The intellectual aspect of the mind becomes spiritually regenerated, and then the will begins to feel divine. Our intellectual nature when made spiritual, is termed the "church." It represents our ability to will spiritual love to others as mutual-love.The goal of the Divine Human is a celestial "church," when humanity begins to feel loved. This is accomplished by the expansion of the spiritual "church" when it takes on the additional affection of charity, and the sensation of conjugial love gets implanted into the will. The experience is like Cosmic Consciousness or when the intellect gets absorbed into the One Mind. Yet, it is not until the will gets united to the One Body do we begin to feel divine. This experience is like a Samadhi realization when all sense of time and space gets removed from our memory as we unite as One.The entire process is humankind's destiny as the Age of Aquarius comes into being. We are all transformed while we sleep, and everyone both good and evil get purified as a result. Innocence gets restored to the affection of love, and the world begins to reflect the spiritual plane resulting in peace on earth, as the oneness of the Divine Human.

The Phaistós disc is the oldest literary work of "Europe"The complexity of the hieroglyphic representation on the Phaistós disc reveals an extremely refined cultural and artistic quality. In the writer's opinion, it is of fundamental importance as indeed it represents the oldest European literary expression. It conveys a message that has come to us from the depths of time, from the beginnings of Western culture and marks the boundary between a before and an after, between prehistory and history. The search for Ariadne's thread in the quest to understand the meaning of what is transcribed there is therefore an imperative historical and cultural necessityThis research was able to demonstrate how the hieroglyphic sequence of the Phaistós disc unfolds in a linear direction along the path of the spirals, starting from the centre towards the periphery, that is, from left to right; to end finally with the line marked with five stylus dots. The current vulgate on the right-to-left writing direction, from the outside towards the centre of the disc, deduced from 2 or 5 overlappings, is definitively overcome by two details never considered up to now: 1) the deformation of some signs, caused by the punching of the sign on their right; 2) the retouching-scratch of the intersection line between A XIV and A XIII, with the series of parallel scratch interrupted by the countersinking of the five dots, placed on the presumed opening line, which the photographic enlargement reveals instead to be the text closing line.In March 2018, by means of photographic enlargements, the author finally discovers on the Phaistós' disc a detail never considered by anyone, which proves in an incontrovertible way the direction of writing from left to right, from the centre to the periphery of the disc. Further and significant confirmations of the right-handed direction of writing are the word corrections, constantly retouched on the right end of the same.To this is added a detail hitherto never noticed by anyone:the combination of a two-factor system regarding the oblique strokeand the hypothesis of Minoan verses and strophes: a) ternarysetting of the phrases/verses (sections) constituting a strophe,b) cadence of the oblique stroke coinciding with the initial part to theleft of these sections (verses and strophes).

Then the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb!" And he added, "These are the true words of God." Revelation 19:9 NIV We have all sinned and despite all our efforts, we have all failed to save ourselves, remove the stains of our guilt, ease our burdens, and heal our pain. Despite all our efforts, we have not defeated death. In fact, we cannot of ourselves forgive our own sins or take away our guilt and shame. Jesus Christ offers this invitation: "Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 NLT. That rest is Shabbat, also known as the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the most misunderstood word, commandment, day, provision, and gift of God. Christ's mission was clearing the guilt and forgiving sinners. His was a mission of reconciliation, Mercy, and Grace from the very beginning as the Sabbath promotes. Christ affirmed his authority by aligning himself with the Sabbath in this bold claim. "If you had known what these words mean, 'I will have mercy not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." Matthew 12:7-8 NIVThis is God's invitation for all to come and experience what so many including Sabbatarians have been missing or misunderstood regarding the significance of the Sabbath in helping us to recognize and fully appreciated God's great love for all. A day has been set aside for you to "...realize that the Sabbath is the Lord's gift to you, and you are Invited to know and experience it.
