Jesus launched the Church, after He was baptized and after He had thoroughly rejected Satan's temptations for 40 days and nights. In mid-December, A.D. 26, Jesus attended a rally led by "John the Baptist" on the bank of the Jordan River. That day, 3 of John's disciples, who helped him from time to time, became disciples of Jesus. They were fishermen from Capernaum. The next day, they travelled with Jesus into Galilee. Along the way, Jesus recruited 3 more followers. Then, with His 6 disciples , Jesus went on to Cana to a wedding. There, urged by His mother, Mary, He turned water into wine, when the wine supply was exhausted. The next day, Jesus celebrated His 30th birthday at His mother's home in Nazareth. And, the next day, He began evangelizing Galilee. He healed many, who were sick or deformed, and cast demons out of the possessed, showing that He was sent into the world by God. He urged everyone to repent, acknowledge that He was the Messiah, ask Him to erase their sins, be baptized , and become members of the "Kingdom of God". Thousands followed Him, even Gentiles. In late January, He preached His renowned "Sermon on the Mount". Later, Jesus threw thousands of demons out of 3 demoniacs and into huge herds of swine, which stampeded into the Sea of Galilee and drowned. In April, Jesus and His disciples went to Jerusalem to observe Passover Week. Jesus was enraged when He saw sacrifice-animals were being sold inside the Temple. He shouted, "This is God's House! Get out !" And, He chased the animals and vendors out and over-turned tables laden with coins that were used in the sinful operation. Meanwhile, The King Herod Antipas decided to show some compassion. He released "John the Baptist". Also, Nicodemus, a senator of the Jews, came to Jesus secretly. He was told that he must be "born again, spiritually", to go to Heaven when his body died. Thank God. Later, he became a solid believer. In early May of A.D. 27, Jesus ordained 12 of His disciples, calling them Apostles. The foundation of the Church was laid.

Once the Allies invaded Western Europe, their missions were to stay behind in Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Italy and Greece; to collect military, economic and political intelligence to be brought back or transmitted by wireless to their German controllers; to acquire new identity cards, currency and ration books; to locate and sabotage military and industrial targets and assassinate key military and political leaders. Operation EASTER EGG involved the burial of over 1,000 dumps of explosives and sabotage equipment before the retreat of the German forces to Germany. Only a select few knew of their existence. When British, American and Canadian troops advanced through France, some of the stay-behind agents surrendered. As counter-intelligence officers threatened them with execution as enemy agents, some revealed the location of the sabotage dumps and hidden wireless sets. Most provided details of the schools where they had been trained, their instructors, the syllabus, their missions and the names and descriptions of other students. As the Allies advanced northwards through Italy, more arrests were made which reduced the effectiveness of Hitler's R-Netz. Some destined to sabotage targets in Rome handed themselves in to the American authorities, admitted that they had been trained by the Germans, denounced others and revealed the location of the hidden explosives and sabotage material. This book is dedicated to my good friend, Liana Petranek. Ever since I met this beautiful Poetess, this remarkable soul, she has shown me nothing but kindness. Even in the first few days of having met on social media, she supported me and encouraged me in ways she will never comprehend much less believe what she did to change my heart. Liana instilled trust again when it was faltering more than it ever has been. The trust issues of expecting to always be hurt because I was used to it, well, she came along and was totally the opposite. Almost like God had sent me an Angel, someone that I needed in my life at the very moment she magically appeared. Divine Intervention? I believe in that. Now I know this all sounds corny. But it's the truth. She has shown me her heart and soul, kindness and respect beyond anything I had felt or known in quite some time, and again, restored my faith in Humanity, that, though rare, good people who want nothing in return for a nice word or an encouraging one, do exist. Perhaps hard to find, but they are out there. Hold on to them. Liana fondly calls me her "Warrior Queen," for she has read my poetry and knows the story of me growing up horribly abused as a child even into womanhood and present day. Liana, this book is for you, the heart and soul of me that I'm giving back. But just know that somewhere between shadows of tears and fears, there is a small smile and you are responsible for that smile that has replaced, even if temporarily, that normal frown. This book is a compilation of my journey as a new painter over six years. Fifty years as a photographer helped my art eye as I began painting in retirement. Both painting and photography help me stop and observe the miracles around me in nature and life. I wrote this book to share this love with others and hope to inspire them to look closer at life around them and keep learning.
