America was changing. Things were happening so fast that you didn't have time to adjust to yesterday's 'new thing.' President JFK was flying to Dallas. The devil continued to do his thing. He was attacking my wife and I with everything that was in his arsenal. Not a lot of heavy stuff. Nothing big and mind-blowing...just small and seemingly insignificant. BUT, I STILL INSIST, IF I WAS FOCUSED AND ON TRACK WITH GOD, 90% OF THE ARGUMENTS WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED OR LESS HARMFUL. Show me a man who is not praying, like the bible admonished, 'Man should always pray', and I'll show you a man flirting with danger and failure. Sooner or later, the evil one will trick you into falling in a nasty, quiet comfort zone. You're argue-less because you're communicating less! THIS IS NOT GOOD! Men...we have to remember, our moods and words and behavior sets the tone - sets the tone for peace or sets the tone for fear and confusion...
Ladies and Gents, Hobo's and tramps, cross-eyed mosquitoes and bull-legged ants: I come before you, to stand behind you, to tell you that through hell and high water you are the intellectual and spiritual center of the universe.
GRANDMOTHER GOOSE: RHYMES FOR A SECOND CHILDHOOD is a collection of humorous, seniors-related poems which explore a range of subjects - including coping with the computer age, discrimination against older drivers, and changing fashions ("As hemlines rise and necklines dip, it really is a riddle - if this trend continues, will they meet in the middle?") We all will grow old - if we're lucky. If we're luckier still, we'll be able to laugh about it. GRANDMOTHER GOOSE helps us do just that.
We all have something that reminds us of someone we loved and lost. Our lives are so busy today and we are running around and always in a hurry. Sometimes we stop quickly...we never know when we will see it...and then we spot it, we stop in our tracks. It may be a vase that we have in our home and walk by it every day, a picture on the wall, an old wine bottle, a medal, a piece of jewelry, an old tea pot, a chair, or a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, something that reminds us or brings us back to a memory of a friend, a parent, a brother or sister, or husband or wife. That special someone who you thought would be around forever to share in your life, and then they were gone...We have little treasures at home - "keepsakes" that we hold, smell, look at, or even hug sometimes. The feelings we get of presence and love, we cannot describe, only feel. For these keepsakes help keep memories of our lost ones alive in our hearts, and knowing that they are very close to us in our everyday lives. Read these stories from these amazing people that share their most intimate feelings and memories of people that have died, and then pull out some of your keepsakes and know that your loved one is there very close to you. Shed a tear or bear a smile...and think and feel the memories of your "Keepsake"...
Were you "Daddy's Little Girl"? Did you share that special relationship with your Dad? Did your Dad serve in the military and not talk much about it, or perhaps not at all? You need to read these personal stories from women who grew up sometimes never hearing or knowing about their dad's service in the military/war. Never hearing names of their buddies or even knowing where they fought til after they have died. Perhaps they saw their buddy die by their side or fought in bloody battles that they wanted to forget. These are all very special stories of ordinary Dads that served and were extraordinary Dads and Soldiers. Share these women's photographs, read their own words, their own versions, no structure, just words from their own hearts and memories.
There are so many people hurting in this world, in the church and outside of the church. We have all been through pain and hurt in our lives. One thing is certain we don't have to live in that and stay in that pain. Many of us live defeated lives and a life of very little joy or peace. We are searching everywhere in life for peace, except at the feet of the Prince of Peace. God did not intend for us to live in misery. He wants to restore us and heal us. I share with you because I suffered too long in not knowing the truth and in depression in the church and outside of the church. God has so much more planned for you in your life. He wants to help you with that inner battle that continues to consume you, all the while pretending to be okay on the outside but hurting so much on the inside. The Lord cares for you and about your problems personally and individually. You are very valuable, and loved by the Lord. He wants to be so real in your life. He wants you to have a good relationship with him, others and yourself. He wants to give you life here with peace and joy as well as eternal life. I pray that you come to the feet of the Prince of Peace and receive all that he has for you. He wants to restore that which was lost and heal your broken heart, your emotions, and your spirit man. Come, to the Prince of Peace and search no more. He is all that you have been searching for and so much more. Come!
As I looked around at the condition of the world in which we live I was struck by the enormity of all the divisions that separate us and have kept us from reaching any kind of a meaningful relationship. We are all uniquely unique in many ways but there is so much more that we all have in common and all of this can be used to bring us together. As I watched all the talking heads on television or heard the pundits on talk radio or walked down the aisle of any bookstore it became quite apparent to me that we had become a nation and indeed a world more divided than ever. One side is hammering home their point of view as the other side is doing the same thing. All this is doing is riling up their constituents that believe as they do and is doing nothing good for society as a whole. We have created an US vs. THEM world. As long as our public discourse is done this way there is no hope for this divisive rift to get any better much less healed. It is my hope that every reader of this book will see what we have in common as the barriers of divisiveness are shattered and the fog is lifted so Christianity can be seen in the light that it so much deserves. I believe that this book is practically unique in the marketplace, unfortunately, as it attempts to build a bridge instead of the chasm that currently separates us. Therefore, this book is for every seeking individual out there looking for meaning and purpose in their life and to give them a pure look at Christianity as an option for them as opposed to what they may have seen and experienced. It is also for every professed Christian out there as a wake-up call to authenticity which is so sorely needed. WORLD FORGIVE ME is written in a down-to-earth conversational style laced with humor throughout to engage the reader.

19: I never had a birthday in Vietnam was written to show how the guys out in the field lived from day to day and not knowing if it was going to be their last day. There's some laughter, sorrow, feeling so down that taking a bullet to end it didn't seem so bad. Guys are guys and the nineteen to twenty four year olds that were in Vietnam were a little more intense than most. Living with death day to day is something only another combat soldier would understand. This was written to get the reader to understand that.
