In 1881, a weary doctor, wounded while serving in the military in Afghanistan, returned to London, only to be introduced to a most unusual young man who was already making a name for himself as the world’s first consulting detective. At that time, they were just in their late twenties, unaware of their legendary futures. They would go on to become two of the most famous and recognizable figures in the world: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson. In 1887, Holmes and Watson’s first investigation as a team, A Study in Scarlet was published. The Sign of Four followed in 1890, and then, in 1891, the world was electrified with the publication of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in the newly-formed Strand Magazine. And the world would never be the same. Through the rest of the Nineteenth Century, and all the way through the Twentieth as well, Holmes and Watson’s fame would grow. The Twenty-first Century is no different . . . . In 2015, The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories burst upon the scene, featuring stories set within the correct time period, and written by many of today’s leading Sherlockian authors from around the world. That first anthology, spread over three huge volumes, contained 63 stories and was the largest collection of its kind ever assembled in one place. Response was immediately and overwhelmingly positive, and soon there were calls for additional collections. Now, we proudly present Parts XIII, XIV, and XV, breaking the record of the first three volumes with 66 new adventures of Holmes and Watson.Over 150 contributors (so far) to the accumulated volumes of The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories have joined together from around the world to produce over 330 new Holmes adventures, each donating their royalties to the Stepping Stones School and the continuing restoration of Undershaw, as well as to honor Sherlock Holmes, the man described by Watson as “the best and wisest . . . whom I have ever known.”All royalties from this collection are being donated by the writers for the benefit of the preservation of Undershaw, one of the former homes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Holmes and Watson journey to the Lake District at the bidding of Squire Foley, who claims to be tormented by a man he believes he has killed in a duel. After an unsatisfactory conclusion they return to London, where they investigate the abduction of a woman in most peculiar circumstances. Next, Inspector Lestrade brings them news of queer goings-on in the National Gallery, before a perplexed priest requests their help with the curious behaviour of his colleagues. Early on, Watson realises that a common thread runs through these events, and Holmes sets out to bring to justice 'probably the most evil woman I ever hope to encounter'.

The eight stories in this volume are more overlooked gems. The first in the collection, A Day at the Races, is set in 1880, before Dr Watson had become the chief chronicler of the Great Detective's work.

A Chronology of the Life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was first published in 2009; this was fully revised, expanded in 2012 and 2014, an Addenda & Corrigenda was published in 2016. This 2018 edition has been completely updated and revised and supersedes all previous editions, it includes all of the revisions and corrections that were made previously plus the information and maps included in the Addenda & Corrigenda. Also included is information located during research since 2016. New photographs have been added to those already published and The Times is now listed in the sources with the date of publication. The index has been compiled professionally by Geraldine Beare.The first section contains a family tree and a detailed chronology of the major and minor events in the life of Sir Arthur and his family from 1755 to 1930. This is followed by sections on events from 1930 to 1998, An Arctic Voyage in 1880, maps of Conan Doyle's travels, the residences of Conan Doyle and his family, where are they buried, locations of plaques and statues, Arthur Conan Doyle and cricket, Arthur Conan Doyle and Portsmouth Football Club, Innes Doyle and cricket, a list of biographies and semi-biographical works, a list of Facsimile manuscripts that have been published, a bibliography, a selective list of miscellaneous writings, works consulted and about the chronologist. Finally, there are a number of well-reproduced photographs of ACD his family at various times of his life; some have not appeared in print before. This publication proves that there is more to Arthur Conan Doyle than just Sherlock Holmes.
